About a week or so ago I came back to the mylot fold with great gusto but I seem to have run out of steam now!! For the first few days the discussion ideas just kept on popping into my head, everywhere I seemed to turn there was inspiration but since a couple days ago - nothing! I have always got paper and pen to hand and I was even poised with my pen on several occassions but still - nothing.
Where do you get your inspiration from? Do find you get your inspiration more in one room of a building than another?

Hey Humbug,
Love the title lol!
I tend to have the other problem. I have a wealth of ideas, most written down and some still coming, but I won't let myself turn them into discussions until I have clearer a backlog, done a task, and replied to other discussions! I also have this thing where I want to add pictures to them all, so I have to do some editing/drawing as well. So I think I have given myself an inspiration blockage !!
When it comes for inspiration I get lots from watching TV while I eat. Most of the one's I haven't done yet were inspired from TV shows from weeks ago! I get a lot from things I try and do on mylot, or want to know more about, and occasionally from discussions I read here as well.
Good luck finding more inspiration

Hello DCLehnsherr
Well I don't respond to all my friends discussions because I can't relate to them all so some of them get deleted. I don't think my friends are offended as I wouldn't be if they did the same to me. Anyway why don't you try, responding to say 10 discussions, start a discussion, respond to 10 discussions, comment on the responses from your discussion, respond to 10 discussions etc? If you don't you will never get another discussion started!! hahaha
Thanks

I agree with you DCLehnsherr; I don't respond to discussions solely because they were started by my friends. At first, I felt guilty, but now I just want my responses to be generated by genuine interest.
I notice you said something about adding photos to your topics. Can we do that? I had asked about adding photos directly to a discussion, but now response. . . LOL I guess my friends are responding based on genuine interest too . . .LOL
I also wondered if we can add a complete album or do they have to be one at a time?
xoxo

Hi Humbug,
I don't go around commenting on my friends discussions either lol. I like to do random interest searching, and so if my friend has a new discussion in the right place that interests me then I will reply, but not otherwise.
As for the plan to post more new discussions, I need a day to make things to add to my discussions, and then I will probably do something like that. I really want to be able to add images to my topics, and I also have to make them myself to ensure they aren't copyrighted, and it is that which gets me behind. Luckily there are no interesting tasks at the moment so I should be able to make headway on this today ~ Crosses fingers ~
Thanks for the encouragement though and all the best for your future new discussions

I rarely start them at all, maybe one a week at the most. I prefer responding to the others and unless something really particular or special happens then I don't even worry about starting one.
I get my inspiration on the spur of the moment. If I try and stop and think of a topic nothing happens then all of a sudden a spark sets me off and I post something. I don't have a special room for anything here except the bathroom and I'm not in there long enough to get ideas

Well didn't people used to take the daily paper or a magazine to read while they were there?
Maybe you take your laptop...
Oh I don't because I haven't got one yet!

Hi ya mysdianait
I am usually in my bedroom when I have my lightblub moments as that is where I spend the most of my time, not because I am in bed but that is where my laptop is based!! I too am not in the bathroom long enough to get inspiration, I am not sure what kind of inspiration you will get in there anyway haha
Thanks

Shall I put the kettle on then? A nice cuppa for you to give you inspiration and plenty of steam when the kettle boils? Or half a tub of Haagen Daz ice cream to get your mind flowing? No word of lie but you actually gave me an idea for a discussion would you believe, so watch this space! And would you believe ironically that last night whilst in bed, I couldn't sleep and I was coming up with these weird and wonderful ideas for discussions here! Only thing is I probably forgotten some of them, but I do remember this crocodile, oooooer! Again watch this space. My inspiration mostly comes from my bedroom believe it or not when I am in bed, trying to sleep! Grrr they do come at inopportune moments! Have a great week my friend ;0)

Put that tongue away and stop sticking it out at me LOL! Yes Ben and Jerrys will be acceptable and I am sure you like one of the discussions and I can thank you for that. Yes I had a restless night last night and all these discussions kept popping into my head. I am sure I will keep people busy today ;0)

Hi wolfie34
I don't have Haagen Daz will Ben and Jerry's do the same trick? Even if you say it won't I will have some anyway haha I had a moment like that last night too. I was just dozing off when my eyes suddenly flicked open and I had to scramble for the pen and paper. I tried to write it in the dark for fear that in the time it would take to get out of bed to switch on the light I would forget! hahaha I will check out the emails of your discussions in a bit, just gonna finish commenting to my responses and I will be right with ya!!
Cheers

Hi Humbug, I always run out of steam! many a time I have thought about a discussion but not written it down so by the time I get here it is forgotten! There is many a time that nothing pops into my head too and maybe that is why I dont start many discussions and respond to them instead...LoLo

Hi ya littleowl
I am the same but I do write it down because I know I will forget. As I was dozing of to sleep last night a thought came to my mind so I got up, put the light on and wrote it down. Needless to say it took me ages to get to sleep after that!!
Thanks

Sometimes, I get inspiration from discussions I've had in other forums and social networks I belong to. Also, I think the editorial section of the newspaper or radio is a great place. The very first topic I posted here was about an editorial comment on my local radio station about minimum wage.
Maybe take a break from trying to start a topic and look comment on other topics. That might give you ideas for discussions that are similar to what's already being talked about. For instance, there was a discussion here about a stranger slapping your child in public that I participated in, and that was a similar thread to a discussion I started about a Dr Phil video where the child slapped his mother.

I only get my inspiration to my eagerness to earn and learn. I love to learn someone discussion here and like to share also my opinion to people.
I don't need any inspiration to write because all what I do here in mylot, is inspired me to make extra money and learn as well.
Have a nice day!

Personally I think we can all relate with this one no matter how long you are a member here, and what type of day you are having. There are many times I have come here and can post away, or start a new discussion, etc. and feel good about being able to do so. Then there are other days where I am lucky if I post back to 10 due to not really feeling in the mood to be here. But either way, that is the Joy of being a member here for sure.

This is the reason why I have a period of inactivity in creating discussions; I couldn't think of which topics or what. Or sometimes I could be having 1,001 ideas, but I just don't have the time to sentence those ideas into a discussion. But I find it easier to answer when I have these stumbles of blocks in my head, and that's what I'm exactly doing now, LoL..
My best advice is to stick to answering and commenting and you will definitely find inspiration to create new discussions as you go along. Get that charcoal running and let it on full steam!

Yes I feel that way too sometimes, because it seems like nearly everything has already been discussed, but as for where get my inspiration, well I get inspiration from everyday life, and news TV and just from whatever's floating around in my head, for example if I happen to be thinking about a particular subject like film or a friend or computers, then it will most likely appear as one of my topics, though lately its becoming more, and more, difficult to think up something fresh.

Sometimes I get inspired by an email sent by a friend and sometimes I get inspired by some injustice I see on the news. Most of my inspiration comes from my family though.
That being said, I don't really start that many discussions. Usually when I think of a good one I am no where near my computer and when I do get there I have forgotten what I wanted to say. For instance, I mentioned that I had a good idea for a discussion in while commenting on someone else's discussion but now I can't even remember who I said it to.

Interesting. I do get these same feelings of running out of inspiration myself as well. Sometimes I think it might be because other people keep repeating their ideas, be that here or elsewhere. It's boring to be the only one dinamizing, don't you think? So it's only natural that inspirtation comes and goes on these cases.

I get most of my inspiration from things that happen around me. I don't start too many though as not too many things happen that would make interesting discussions! LOL It's just as well as I have a hard enough time commenting back to a new discussion that I start. I couldn't imagine commenting back on several discussions at the same time, especially if they had a ton of responses! So, I just start a discussion every once in a while so that I don't get too overwhelmed!
Happy mylotting!

No inspiration at all. There are so many things to write, it is all around us. when you respond just be true to yourself and you can.

My problem is that i start to many to keep up with. im constantly thinking of things id like to ask from friends. i love to read their comments but often run out of responses without repeating a lot. also, i dont like to leave them unanswered for fear that they will think i didnt bother to read what they said and i always read them all. guess im just a big gabber i think of things all the time in every room its awful i guess when mylot is almost your life.

LoL~ I know what you mean. When I first started mylot, I was using it daily and spending a awful amount of time on here. I wanted to see if I could earn the minimum on a monthly basis. And I did for a period of 4 months straight. But I found so many other sites where I could earn quite a bit of money on as well and kinda let mylot go by the wayside. Since it is one of the favored sites that is legit and does pay like they say they do. I picked it back up and just hang out here to do the daily email posts and start a discussion or too when it comes to mind. I'm so grateful for mylot and even more grateful for them being legit.
