Who / what wakes you up in the morning?

Some might wake up by the sound of the alarm , some by the milkman , some by the sound of the newspaper , some by the barking of the dog.
For me its my 15 months old daughter who starts crying which wakes me up.Eventhough I would have kept the alarm , its my daughter who makes me up.Even I have been woken up by the milkman , the sound of the newspaper , barking dogs , by my wife , by my son , by some phone calls...
What about you?

For me it is my telephone. I can sleep through the alarm clock. And I've been known to hit the snooze button repeatedly and not remember doing. I can sleep through the garbage truck on Tuesday mornings (twice) once the regular garbage truck and the second the recycling truck, even though it has to back up all the way to the top of our road so it has the annoying beeping sound going. But, if my telephone starts to ring, I will wake up in a heartbeat. It usually isn't even someone that I want to talk to, but I guess it is the ring tone that I've got it set to that wakes me up.

During the week, my internal clock wakes me up about 15-30 minutes before the alarm goes off. When I can sleep in, it is generally a dog staring at me that wakes me up.

Dear Krupesh,
I always set an alarm on my cellphone if I need to wake
up early for an appointment and fetch my son to school
on weekdays. However, it is the morning bright sunlight
that shine in through my room's window that wakes me up
majority or the day when I did not set the alarm clock.
I purposely had one of my window without curtain for this
purpose After second thought, I think I better
fix a curtain soon..LOL
Sometimes the courier service delivery man wakes me up by
borning their bike for us to come out and personally signed
the document or parcel!

When I have to go to school, I would set an alarm and that would wake me up. During the weekends and in the summer, I just wake up when I slept enough or if I have to go to the bathroom. Sometimes people call in the morning too. Very frustrating when you are woken up knowing you could still have been sleeping but unable to sleep again

Hi Krupesh,
Well I'm usually woken by my husband who comes into our room with my medicine at the same time every morning. Although now that he's away on his business trip I have to "fend" for myself. lol Now I just use the regular alarm clock and if I manage to sleep in then I'll hear a scratch on the door, meaning my cat who needs to be fed. Nothing like the high pitched screams of a baby to wake you up in the morning. ;)

For me, it's nothing but habit. I haven't slept with an alarm in years, and I live alone. Yet, for some reason, I always wake up at 7:30, give or take 5 minutes. Even if I got to bed really late, I will still wake up then.

well now that summer vacation is over, I have my alarm set and am now waking up to that... my son started school this past week, so we are getting back into a routine again.
during the summer we were able to just sleep in and our day was our own...but now things will be back on a schedule again and I think its a good thing to have --at least for me--I get more things done this way. I have been really lax this summer and now I need to get things going again!!
my daughter is 20 months now --and she always got me up everyday...that was when I new it was time to get up....LOL
Happy mylotting.

it's the sound of my alarm clock that always wakes me up in the morning, without it, i would be waken up late because it's too close here in my room and i can't hear anything from the outside.

hmmm. well, I think it's my body clock. LOL.. I don't like using alarm clocks, cause it makes my morning really bad. hehehe. I usually wakes up when I need to.. I don't think I have slept too much ever. LOL.. even if it's the weekend, I still wake up really early, like when I have work.. It's just the way it is with my body.

Hi there krupesh,
nice question you have there, well for me the only thing/person that wakes me up is my mom. Well, I don't know whats in my mom's voice but every time that she wakes me up in the morning I woke up straight ahead and that's something that don't happen when I use my alarm clock or I hear any other noise. I guess I was just used to the feeling of her waking me up every morning to get up and go to school and until now she still does that. lol

I wake naturally. I usually have a chorus of laughing kookaburras soon after I'm awake, but they don't start before I'm up.
I go to bed late and rise early, but I sleep very soundly. I only need a maximum of six hours sleep, and usually only five hours. I am usually awake before daylight, so I don't know what wakes me, but I know that as soon as I'm awake I am rearing to go. I begrudge time spent in bed as a waste of time.

i almost always wake up before the alarm goes off. i only set it just in case on the rare occasion i am still asleep at 6:30. i usually wake up before that all on my own. i go to bed early enough where i get enough sleep so i can get up and start my day when i need to. if i get up even 15 mniutes late during the school year it throws my whole day off. i have so much to do before i get my son up and out the door and then when i get back the little baby i babysit for is already here and waiting for me and i take care of her until 5:15. it is a long day and i do not get much done while taking care of her as she is one and very active and almost walking so i have to be with her every minute so she does not get hurt.

I have a habit to put an alarm clock on the bedside, but it usually cannot wake me up. I always woke up by my mum. Mom always calls me and my elder brother loudly. If we don't get up , my mother would be angry. So my brother and I always got up quickly, when mom called us.
