To be frank, I many at-times break traffic rules. I love speeding & really don't like the idea of stopping at the signals. Since I believe that I have perfect control over my vehicle, I never met with any accidents & I love breaking the rules. After all rules are made to be broken
Happy Lotting

I do broke traffic rules. Its so common here to do it.Especially during wee hours everybody is asleep. Beating the red light is your way if you dire need to go home.I think you should not be punished, instead just be given a warning for it. But it really depends on the authority.

To be honest, I have ever broken the traffic rules. I still remembered that. It was a cold winter day, I hurried to the school for some emergent thing. So I rade the bicycle along the left side(in china it should be in the right side). After that, I felt guilty for it. If everyone broke the rules in that way, the traffic is in jam easily. I want to say: obey the traffic rules and the traffic will be smooth especially in large city such as BeiJing , ShangHai in china.

Hello,
if you are on a bike then you have more right than car or motor. I drive and sometimes I break a rule too... just like this morning, I delivery pastries to the hotel and I waited for a left turn... there is no car at all... and the light was so slow, never turn green for like 5 minutes. So, I made a turn without the green light ... lolz... no police then I can turn though ... hahahha .
Don't do like that me, it is dangerous and you will get yourself a ticket

I too have broken traffic rules many a times. But I am always particular about the timings. Like when I go for my swimming early in the morning, the roads are totally empty except for one or two vehicles on the roads. During this period,I feel like jumping red lights and I do it many a time. But When my son is driving with me, I am a picture of perfection by stopping at red lights, and also explaining to him the importance of following road/safety rules, so that he gets the right impression that it is wrong to jump traffic lights. Though sometimes, when the road is empty, he does urge me to cross the red light, but I am very firm in front of him. I guess I am a hypocrite, but it is fear of him turning out to be reckless driver when he grows up, that I follow traffic rules sincerely.

Yes,I have broken the traffic rules some 2 or 3 times.
Actually it was during emergency. It was during my exam time.It was getting late for the exam and I was in the traffic jam in my bike.So that day I took the wrong way to reach the college. The traffic policeman tried to prevent me but I was in full speed and just frightened the policeman by shouting at him. That distracted the policeman and he failed to record my number. That was a very risky deal. But I escaped. Thanks God for that.I promised not do repeat that type of mischief again.
Now I always obey traffic rules and always try to do things before time.

Frankly,no one dare to say that he has not broken the traffic rules I think.Traffic rules will be useless when others have ever broken the rules before you and you will also want to speedup your cars or move across the street when the lights are red...or you will feel like a fool. And I find that sometimes the rules is intricate. For example,on some roads, turning around is forbidden, but if so,you will be locked in the circular road forever.I can't really understand why...The same as a walker on the road, you will find you will be fooled acrossing the overbridge in the city, cuz the there no cars at all,and the overbridge is so far away...the best answer is that the overbridge is just for looking...

yes! not only a driver beats the red light, also pedestrians but they beat the green light on the other hand.
i am one of those who beat the green light. i take chance that cars and jeepneys are still on "stop" or "caution" signal getting ready for the green light.
i do not do that all the time though, lol. i know that is dangerous and i am doing a bad example to others.

I think we have all broken a traffic rule or two at least once in our lives. Nobody is coming, why should I completely stop for the stop sign? How often does that thought cross your mind?

I had broken off,I admit, but very few. before crossing the road ,when I saw the traffic light light is red ,but the passing vehicle is very small. I would cross the street to the opposite. In addition ,the green light soon jump into the red last a few seconds,I would have have cross the road. Of course , I would not want to do .

I have not done this in my life even once. Even when crossing the roads, I will encsure that the right signal is on. Then only I will cross the road. I think traffic rules are being layed for our safety. We should obey these rules to avoid any accidents both during vehicle driving and also when walking on roads.

I think sometimes I have to break the traffic rules, otherwise I can't go across the road. For example, the traffic light design is quite confusing. When there is green light, it's supposed that the people can go across the road without problems. However, the truth is the cars which will turn around can also go. So this is a conflict between the cars and the people. If you give in to these cars, then soon the traffic light will turn red and you have to wait again. And when the green light is on, then the same situation happens again. So I go across the road when I feel "safe". If I have to count on the traffic light, then I can't go across the road at all.

Yes, me too. Like you, wangkai, when there is no vechicle from the cross direction but the traffic lights are red, I will cross the road sometime.
Actually I was confused and vexatious about it. A few years ago, I kept on obeying the traffic rules. And in the situation as below I describing, everyone walked across the road, except me, I was standing there and waiting. But passerbies' sight made me think that I was a weirdy. So I was so suffering then.
Then I did like others to make me looks normal. - Though I know deeply it's wrong.

A lot of us have probably broken the odd traffic rule...Surely. Even the most careful of drivers must have made a mistake every once in a while...I have gone over the speed limit but have been lucky not to ever be caught although I better be more careful because I will probably receive a fine because I said that!
I did hit a man on a motor bike once many years ago because although he had right of way I did not see him and to this day I have no idea where he materialised from.
Fortunately, thank goodness he was not hurt and all we had to contend with was damage to the bike and my car. I did receive a fine because he reported the accident to the police even though he told me he wouldn’t.
I have been driving for over thirty years and that’s the only fine I have ever received aside from a couple of parking tickets.

Just like any one I too am guilty of breaking the rule occasionally. It is more out of necessity than by intention. I do need to cross the road hog when I am in a hurry, so if it is safe enough I cross lanes and cut back across. In an unruly city with an equally unruly traffic it is done!
