eating his lips

my son is having a bad habit of eating his lips i.e. keeping his lower lip in his mouth holded by his lower teeth because of his lower lips has became thicker which looks very bad , Can u pls give me some suggestions so that he gives up his this habbit thanks in advance

my son does the same thing and we sometimes but lemon juice on his bottom lip and then he does not like to eat his lips. He also like to chew the sides of his mouth. With that all we tell him to do is stop biting his cheek. He also likes to chew on his fingers and with that there is some liquid you can buy and put on his fingers that tastes really bad when they put it in there mouth.

I think because his teeth is going to come out he is feeling irritated because of that and he will do it for everything he gets in his hands too so I use to give him a carrot in his hand so that he can bite it instead of his lips.
