Cosplay, what's your opinion?

hey there mylotters!I'm a cosplayer and I love anime! If you're not familiar with the term cosplay, it means to dress up like your favorite anime character and to have fun! I love cosplay, since it gives me a chance to make new friends and interact with new people. Also, by portraying a character, I have lots of confidence and I find that I can make friends easier. Not to mention, all the pictures that are taken are so fun! And they're free too. The picture over there is one that my friend took of a lolita, isn't it cool?
But some people refer to cosplayers as the geekiest of the geeks. Saying that dressing up in costumes is weird and that we're crazy.

Interestingly, I don't cosplay but I go there cause I'm Lolicon/Moe-lover and that's all I want to see in Comikets and Cosplay Cons :D But Fascinatingly I only agree with the costumes with the animes that I have watched or I recognize well. Well, anyway I hope to see another Coscon once more :D

hahaha...hentai cosplayers, in my country, they will be sent to prison, i don't think it would happen in japan or USA,,,i love those country...cool...

hahaha. well I love seeing cosplayers too even when I'm in costume. And it's fun to meet people who go out of their way just to see cosplayers. As long as they're not hentai, that is.

My opinion on cosplay? I think it's greeeaat entertainment!
I don't cosplay myself, I'm too poor to make a good outfit.
When it's done well, I think cosplay is really cool and awesome and I love seeing it.
And when it's not done well, it's absolutely HILARIOUS!

hahaha, it's true that it's entertaining. Well if you really want to make a good costume you can save! That's why I'm working and I'm on mylot, to save up for my cosplays. It's true that good cosplays are awesome and fail! cosplays are funny. But when you know how hard it is to make a good costume you admire the cosplayers even more.

Hi Kara,
I wanted to cosplay once, I wanted to either be someone from DGM, or turn myself in an OC I created for DGM, and go as her instead. In the end I didn't have a clue about how to make costumes, and there wasn't a big enough con nearby to show off at, so I never managed. I do really enjoy seeing what other anime fans are able to come up with though with regards to their costumes. It does look like it would be great fun to do.
The costume you have looked fantastic as well, have you ever been as anyone else?

That's cool, I like dgm as well! It's a really good manga and anime. it's too bad you weren't able to show your costume off though, you should try next time a con comes around to town! And yes, cosplayers are a lot of fun to watch when they try. Thanks for the compliment. I've cosplayed as Yuki Cross, Lady from DMC and Soi Fon from Bleach before. Soon I'm going to do Mio from K-On!

hi karaKATAD,,,i also love anime, but most of all, i like cosplay especially the girls. they are all beautiful. how can japanese people have such kind of ideas like that. that is unique. if only i lived in japan, unfortunately, i live in a country where cosplay isn't familiar enough. so i know only from magazine and internet.

Cosplay is weird depending on who is being cosplayed. If Pride is cosplayed, it's really bad. If L is cosplayed, might turn out better. :D
