Pimples... on your scalp!!!

Pimples on the scalp! - They a source of pain and frustration.
I wonder what causes them to pop on the scalp!
What do you do when you get pimples that popped on your scalp?
Do you break them?
How do you get rid of them?
More importantly, how do you prevent them from popping up on your scalp?!?

ever had those happening to you? They can be so irritating! And they pop up at the most unlikely places! Pimples... and of all things, on the scalp! Those that pop on the scalp are the toughest. They are difficult to pop cos you cannot see them. And they are sore as anything, especially when you accidentally "hit" one with your hair brush while combing your hair! And if you pop them, you risk infection cos you cannot see if you have properly cleaned the pimple wound after you have popped it! They are mini-nightmares on the scalp! I never understand it. I clean and shampoo my hair twice a day! So oily and dirty is out of the equation. I wonder what causes them to pop on the scalp! What do you do when you get pimples that popped on your scalp? Do you break them? How do you get rid of them? More importantly, how do you prevent them from popping up on your scalp?!?

I hate pimples on scalp as well!! lol =D THere are times it's due to the way we shampoo our hair, and we din wash it thoroughly enough to clean off all the shampoo, thus ending up with pimples on our scalp.. hehe ^_^ Another possibility will be the things we wear on our head, or even pillow etc, which might be dirty, causing pimples to pop up as well.. hehe ^_^ If one really wanna prevent pop ups on scalp, only thing is to keep our scalp clean, and changing our bedsheets, pillow case etc, often.. lol =D

My hair is short. So rinsing them off is never an issue. My wife is fussy about cleanliness. So a dirty pillow is also out of the question. I never like to put any product on my head. Neither do I wear any head gear. So, when it happens, it is really irritating!

Never got even once. Once i got perhaps, but just for chicken pox. In the general condition, i think it is because too much eating peanuts or not regularly shampooing your scalp. But maybe i have, but can't remember it. You are so funny from the way you described it. What will i do if one of them perch on my head? No, don't break them, they have a life on there, he he... Needless to get rid of them, just let it be. It will break in a couple of days. How to prevent is by clean your scalp everytime you go to bathe, use the right shampoo, wash and rinse it with clean water, what else, and do not let it got the sunlight too much, because it will has sweats then oily, then it will cause the pimples. Thanks for invited me. See you later.

ha ha ha ha ha... don't mention it. I will take note of the sweating portion. My line of work do not need me to be out in the sun too much. But that is an interesting point raised.

I have never gotten a pimple on my scalp. If you know about the secret of the law of attraction, they would just tell you to Ask for clear skin, believe you have clear skin, then receive clear skin. The weirdest place I ever got a pimple was on my scrotum. That was very odd I thought. But who knows about this pimple stuff. I don't know what causes them, people say all sorts of things, I didn't eat a sweet for a month, and I showered twice a day and still got pimples...so who knows.

ha ha ha ha, those are irritating as hell too. Hmm... law of attraction eh? I never thought of using laws of attraction for pimples before. I may just give it a go and see how it goes. Heh heh... Thanks for the suggestion though. A very interesting one at that too!

Hi ahgong, Scalp acne can be just as irritating as any other type of acne to the sufferer and it can easily be made worse by using the wrong type of hair products. It is always best to ask the pharmacies for a recommendation before buying any hair care products if you think that you might have scalp acne. It is important to make sure that the hair is kept clean because too much oil on the scalp can also be bad for this type of acne. If you think that you might be suffering from scalp acne then it is very important to see your dermatologist or doctor as soon as possible this way they can start to treat the condition before it gets any worse. These conditions are usually best treated as early as possible and if you see your doctor early then they can recommend you to a dermatologist. Thanks, Aira

ha ha ha ha... thanks for the concern airakumar. I am not suffering from any scalp acne. The pimples just happen from time to time. It is just so irritating when they do. This is just a gripe pose about pimples on the scalp.

I have that sometimes at the back head, but it's alright, as long as i don't pump it out once it's ripe. or it will just disappear when using shampoo ever day. neer touch it and wait it until it becomes ripe, shampoo can take it out.

Yeah, I know better than to pop a pimple. What is worst, popping one at a place where you cannot see. You never know whether you got all the pus out to clean the wound there after. The thing is, you some times pop those pimple by accident. That is where the headache starts.

Actually I never faced this problem ever nor has my daughter.I guess the correct thing to do if you this skin problem is to apply some soframycin cream on it and don't break it as it could spread in other places on ur scalp. Also ,after a head bath,u can pour/apply some boric powder to the infected area

I think the last time i had a pimple on my scalp was when i was pregnant with my daughter... and i attributed that to my pregnancy... because other things happened to my body during that time... It was very itchy... so i ended put removing the hair in the area... then popped the pimple... that was not a very good idea... because it got infected... and when it finally healed... hair never grew back in the area... good thing i was a small portion so not really that noticeable... i hope that will never ever happen again... even when i get pregnant again...

Yeah, I know what you mean. But to have one that is itchy? The ones I have were never itchy. Just sore. And it happens on the scalp even when I keep my hair and scalp clean. The worse thing is, I only find out the pimples are there when I comb or wash. By then it would be too late. Either I popped it by accident, or I scratched or broke it due to the combing. Either way, it is very troublesome!

Hello, I never have this on my scalp. It might be some infection you have on your head that might case to have it. I understand that you shampoo your hair twice a day... but it doesn't mean you have removed it all those. If this happen so many time, you have to see a doctor about it. Another thing, dont shampoo your hair too much otherwise you will loose your hair.

It not like it is happening all the time. It happens from time to time. Pimples seem to pop up at odd places once in a while. But the ones that happens on the scalp, are the most frustrating ones.

I don't know about pimples on the scalp but I have heard that if the skin is to dry that it can cause them too. Maybe if you tried just washing your hair once a day it might help. Sometimes there are ingrown hairs that could cause that too I bet. I don't think there is much that can be done about that unless you keep your hair super short. If the hair is super short, ingrown hairs are more likely to happen.

Well, My hair ain't that short to get ingrown. And I use a pretty light shampoo. So washing twice a day ain't the issue either. These pimples, thank god, do not happen often. But when it does, in the once in a blue moon, like now, it gets really irritating! Just griping! heh heh...

hi ahgong, i never encounter this kind of problem before. But i do have friend having this problem too. Do you use any conditioner? Actually too much of conditioner sometimes can become the culprit of pimples appear on your scalp. It is advisable to rinse off the conditioner clearly and make sure the conditioner is not oily. It sounds to me, you have a sensitive scalp, don't 'try and error' to find a suitable shampoo for your scalp. We don't really know the active ingredients in every shampoo, shampoo with strong chemical ingredients can make it even worst. It is better to consult a dermatologist and get the prescription for a special shampoo. There are some natural treatment to treat pimples on the scalp. Sometimes people will used white vinegar to treat their hair and scalp, after that you may rinse with lukewarm water. You may used mild shampoo (baby shampoo) to wash your hair afterward to get rid of the smell. Hope this help :)

Using vinegar on the hair is something new. I use vinegar to clean a lot of things. But never thought about using it on the hair. Interesting. Maybe the next time I get a pimple on the scalp, I will try it. My hair is short, so there is no need for conditioning. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, it is not the shampoo or the cleanliness of the hair and scalp that is the cause. It just happens from time to time. Thanks for the concern and the suggestion though!

yep! I've tried having pimples on my scalp too. I didn't like it at all. it hurts and it's really bothersome. Sometimes they're caused by an allergic reaction to shampoo. You should try to change your shampoo and see what happens after, if you still have pimples. You can get rid of them by using antibacterial shampoos.

Noted. Lucky thing only one this time. But one is more than enough to cause irritation for a period of time.
