Why do girls prefer tall guys?

It amazes me how many guys lie about how tall they are when describing themselves online...many put that they are much taller than they really are...which is stupid because if you meet someone you will be found out to be a pathetic liar. I also think that shorter women with a tall guy looks ridiculous...just my opinion. I'm sort of tall for a woman at 173 cms and I have always liked tall men especially as my partner...I'm just not comfortable with guys shorter than me. I like to lean on my guy, snuggle into him as he puts his arms around me. I love to lean on his chest when he holds me and put my face up to his for his kiss.

I like to look up to a man. It gives a sort of sense of protection. Just my two cents

It is more often that guys are taller than girls. And I think it is the masculinity thing that men should be taller than women. But theres a saying that if the girl is taller than the boy they are lucky and I do believe on that saying. Most of my friends and no friends where the girls are taller than the boys are really lucky. Wanna look at some of your friends.

Higher percentage of women prefer taller guys, but not all. I'm quite lucky to be taller than the average, I'm 6 foot tall. Yes it seems to be mutual things, women like tall and men prefer shorter woman. I'm not sure if I read it here in mylot or somewhere else. according to study men are attracted to beatiful women but women doesn't seem to be so attracted to handsome men, they prefer men with good status, financially stable and so on and maybe taller men is on the list. But as always, survey only done in small percentage of people.

I think that there are a lot of girls who like their bf/fiance/husband to be taller than they, but maybe not by much. My fiance is a wee taller then I, but with his shoes off I can stand on my tippy toes and be a wee taller then he is. I have heard that tallness gives one a confidence boost though I am not sure how that relates to emotions in any way, unless of course that is to say that more girls will be attracted to the taller guys? Your wife is so blessed. Tall guy will be well respected. If you see a well built manager, you will feel that he is a 'somebody'. Hi philip, I've found they seem to get taller over the years. My man now is very tall and strong and I'm petite so it makes me feel very protected. It works well, I like him being so tall and broad and he likes me being so small so he can throw me around. Not that he actually throws me.

Well, I would say most girls would feel proud and secure if they get tall boyfriends. They hope to be admired by others, especially their friends. For me, I am not very tall. But it is not a question to me since it is easy for me to find girlfriends. The most important thing is that you need to have the necessary ability to survive in this world. We all need to have decent lifestyle. Then we could attract girls.

Attraction is the first step to success of making a new relation! So if you are tall & also a little handsome, girls would want to talk to that person at the first go, or else it will be a little difficult & will depend on your character. hmmm...well, it it's nicer to see if the guy is taller, right? it gives more security than having a shortie partner that you'll doubt if he can protect you anytime. I think no one is wishing to have a partner that are not so blessed when it comes to height and if ever by chance they are committed with shorties,they must be in love,or they are just not lucky. and oh! i would prefer having a tall children in the future.

My bf now only 2 cm taller than me, and he is the shortest among his friends In the past, I like to see tall guy, they look cool, strong, and protective. But as time goes by, I try not to judge people by their appearance. Heart is more important and now I don't care about tall, short, etc, anymore :D

I think because it's one of their requirements of having a tall and nice intelligent guy. besides, most girls feel that they feel protected and secure when a guy is actually taller then them, Vice is true also. but depends, some just prefer mow much they are in-love.

When I was younger I used to prefer taller guys. I am quite tall and I didn't want to date someone shorter than me. One of the reasons is I didn't want a guy that only came up to my neck line because I was afraid he'd be staring at one particular part of my body. Another reason might be all those fairy tale stories you hear about men sweeping women off their feet. I would think this would be hard for someone shorter than you to pick you up. Now that I'm older my boyfriend is a couple inches shorter than me but it doesn't bother me. Of course I tend not to wear too many high heel shoes otherwise I'll look like a giant. Maybe it is a slight insecurity, women want to feel like they are the female in the relationship more petite and dainty than the guy I suppose.

I used to always want to be with tall guys. I'm pretty tall myself, (5'7") and I like to wear heels, so I always wanted to be with a guy whose taller. As I got older, I stopped caring so much, but I found that sometimes the guys did! That if I was with a shorter guy, and I wore heels, he might get insecure and make comments. And since I want to be with someone that was secure and self confident, this didn't work for me! My fiance is actually only 2" taller than I am, and when I wear heels, I can be taller. He doesn't care, though, and so neither do I. Self confidence makes all the difference.

girls give priority to looks than any thing, ya money holds a much more important position than looks too. tallness provides the x factor and charm to the personality of a person whether men or women. but all girls are not the same, i dont like tall guys rather i prefer short ones. looks does not hold importance position for me, i wish that the guys heart is more beautiful than looks.

I would date a guy my height, 5'5" but I wouldn't date anyone shorter. i just would n't like having to look down on him. I wouod feel uncomfortable.

I am sorry, but if the guy isn't taller than me I won't go out with him. I like to look up at a guy, not down at him. I don't quite know why that is my preference but it is. I used to be 5'10' but now that I have gone through menopause I am only 5'6" but I still prefer a guy to be 6' tall. That way when we are dancing I am at his chest level and it just feels mroe confortable. I think it looks funny to see a guy and girl walking together and the girl is way taller. But to each their own, I say. I don't judge anyone.

while I want a man to be taller than me..I am 5'4 after all,I have noticed that most the guys I end up attracted to are not that all as in under 6'0 and even the one i really like now is only 5'6.I guess there are just a lot of other factors I look at than height.

hi! i am not a tall girl, i am average indian height... well, i don't think tall and short matter too much. it matters for newly wed when people storm in to see how the couple looks like... next day when eevryone is gone... then what ..? only the two remain to understand each other and be responsible and take care of eachother. the inch tape would not come inbetween to measure their heights... hence, tall or short... i would prefer the person who would accept me as i am and would love to be with me...
