The topic of abortion has been an obsessive one from earliest time. Even now, agreement on it is still a long way off. Several countries have legalized it, and science has made tremendous progress towards a clarification of it, but the moral question is still there, continually challenged. What is your moral stand in abortion?

I am pro-life and wouldn't ever have an abortion. I found out at 36 weeks pregnancy that my baby would have spina bifida and hydrocephalus. A consultant asked me if I wanted to have an abortion and I said no way. My son is now 2 years old. He isn't able to walk and he requires catheter care. I adore him and give him happiness in his life.
I think life begins at conception. I think of aborted babies as being the missing people of the world. I think a baby is a special gift and that it isn't right to throw that away. The clock can't be turned back and many ladies regret having their abortion. An abortion is terrible and can lead to severe depression.
In my home country abortion is legal up until 24 weeks pregnancy. If the lady's life is in danger or a baby is disabled abortion is available at any stage of pregnancy. In some other countries abortion is illegal like in Malta but ladies can pop over to Italy. I think abortion is morally wrong. Adoption isn't perfect but at least it keeps the innocent baby alive.

You have a point there. Sometimes, you really need to stand to what is moral right than legally right. It's always beneficial to follow your convictions and decide firmly to what you believe is correct because at the end of the day, you're the one who will going to reap the consequences of your choice. Thanks...I think this discussion is not only interesting but crucial and timely to discuss.

Yes, a person has to do what is morally right. Abortion is legal but I wouldn't ever have one. Actions have consequences. I think back to the time the midwife told me that my baby might not be compatible with life. Then the next day I had to go to the fetal medicine unit. I wish that the consultant had been able to tell me what my life would be like if I had my baby rather than have an abortion. Now my toddler son is here I know about Spring Board, the Portage Service and The Disabled Children's Team. I am proud of my son and he is a lovable little boy. He has a weak leg but a pair of skilled hands.

In our country, abortion is still illegal because Church always dictates that they are evil doing it could hold the peace of the child and a terrible sin to the woman doing it. several countries have gone liberal and have lost their sense of concern to the child be born into this world. probably that's why contraceptives are very important.

isn't it that even synthetic contraceptive was not acceptable particularly to Roman Catholic? They say that is against the mandate of God when it comes to what we called "pro-creation." go back to our topic. I think moral issue in abortion will continue and remain even if our government will legalize it.
