Hi,
Most of us who are married will wear a wedding ring.
Those engage will wear an engagement ring.
Those lover, will wear lover's ring.
In actual fact anyone can wear a ring.
For myself, I did not wear any ring because the ring is quite
a bother when I do house chores like washing clothes, etc.
And at times it is loose, might drop, so I decided not to
wear it when I am at home. However if I do go out for some
gathering, then I will wear it.
How about you? Do share with us what type of ring do you prefer,
plain, with designs or with stones?
Have a Wonderful Day:)

I also don't wear my wedding ring when at home. If my hands get cold, it becomes so loose and don't want it to fall off. I also wear a ring on my right hand when I'm away from home. Both are diamonds. I wear my original engagement ring which is now soldered inside a ring guard because the band became so thin over a period of many years. The ring guard is all diamonds so it does make the engagement ring look so pretty and keeps it well protected.

Dear Carol,
It is so sweet to hear from you again.
I can imagine how beautiful and sparkling your engagement
ring..great job for a great idea - soldered it inside the
diamond ring guard. Excellent
I do not have a proposal ring nor an engagement ring. I do
have a wedding ring.
How I wish I can turn back time and make him kneel down with
a bouquet of flowers and a proposal ring ...
My nephew proposed to his girlfriend last Valentine Day.
He secretly arranged a holiday at a villa where they first
time met. On the Valentine Day, while having the dinner, he
sang a love song, kneel down with a diamond ring and propose
to her in the eyes of so many diners that night. How romantic!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful story, I really enjoyed it
very much.

Dear Carol,
He is the most caring and thougtful person
in the 'Hng's family. He will bring his parents
for overseas holiday every year.
I still remembered when he was just 8 years old.
WE had a local excursion to Penang Island. One
evening, we have our time on our own 'free & easy'
to try the local food there. Since his parents was
not well that evening and rest at the hotel, I and
him go for dinner at the local stall there. We ordered
the same food. His food arrived, since he is a small boy,
I asked him to eat first. BUt out of my surprise, this is his
answer...it is still fresh in my mind :~
"Aunty, you eat first..because I can eat very fast.
No worries, you go ahead"..he is so thougtful!
Cheers..

I'm having the same situation like you, I don't wear ring at home simply it is bothering my finger when doing house chore. Whats more I seldom wear now, coz my finger is slightly bigger than the ring size. It is very tight when I wear on it and I need lotion's help to pull it out.
Me and hub have a silver engagement ring and a gold ring for wedding. I also got a diamond ring as gift after I gave birth to my boy. I love all rings, but too bad the engagement and wedding ring is not really able to wear now. I just wear the ring that I own myself now, which is also my all time favourite silver ring on the forth finger. I like those ring with a bit design on it and not a wide band.

Dear lemonjude,
So sweet, you got diamond ring as a gift after you give birth.
It is definitely a 'wonderful' feeling to be love and appreciated!
I am so happy for you...
By the way, does the wedding ring that you wear have
your spouse name engraved on it? Mine, yes...my husband
name was engraved on it. That is why he likes to joke:
saying that I am wearing his ring...because is his name

Hi Iriene!
Though I have few rings, however, I do not not like wearing those rings. When I was newly married I would wear my wedding rings, however, later on, I removed it. Specially, in summer, when there is lot of sweating, I feel irritation in my finger, if I am wearing it.
Have a nice day!

Dear deepak,
Actually wearing the ring and carrying heavy load
against it is bad, the ring got scratches and our
finger's bone..or tissue will be wounded too. At
times I do feel the pain on it.
So, I no more wearing it at home unless for some
functions
Wearing a ring is quite inconvenient for works,
and as responder no. 26 mentioned it might carries
bacteria and virus with it too!
Thanks and do keep in touch :)

I am out of this fashion or rather was. One of my well wishers suggested that I should wear a particular ring with a birth stone to augment my income. As he is some kind of a priest I blindly obeyed him and threw myself to his whims and fancies. He bought a ring for me to wear to better my business.
I wore it more for his sake because he was doing this out of love and not for money. I never use to believe in such things till then. But somehow to please him I wore it though I was finding it little uncomfortable. I kept it for six months with no results in my business standings. I finally removed it and told him that I am finding it very uncomfortable and as such it is not showing any said results.
Mean while he had asked me to follow a few things which I didn't follow. I was rather finding it very difficult to follow. So this is the story of my ring.

Dear meapas,
My 2nd sister believe in astrology, numerology and any 'logy'.
So, one fine day, he met an Indian astrologist from India, he too
recommended my sister to get a gold ring with a special stone
on it. Since my sister do not have enough cash, she lied to
my mum that she needed the money for some courses for
promotion. After taken the money, this special customised ring
taken weeks and weeks to be ready. So, my sister had no more
patience. She insisted me to call the astrologist...at last
she got it. Wear it for nearly a year, nothing good happen.
She gave up and sold it to 'Cash Coverters'..I guessed!
Then she back to believe in God and surprisingly she got
promoted and promoted and promoted till today! Just change
a new car and a latest cell phone. I do not know how my mum
know about my sister lied to her....she advised her not to
simply believe all kinds of 'logy' and grow up and be 'logical'
That's the story of my sister and her 'stone' ring!
Thanks for sharing your story, really interesting, hope you
will be happy too even without the ring :)

With or without ring I was and am very happy. I can't say about tomorrow. My priest friend is still trying to get me some magical ring to better my business. I have run into a huge financial loss over the years. That is the only problem. There is no shortage of happiness in my life. All my relatives are well placed in life. We all have a very good bonding. Many of my relatives came forward to pull me out of this financial mess but I want to come out on my own. I know I can and I will, come out of it on my own.

Hi, Irene! I seldom wear my wedding ring at home because I really want to take care of it, so, I think it is better kept inside the jewelry box especially when I am at home. Like you, I feel that it is also because of the uneasiness when doing the house chores as well as afraid of losing it. I will only wear it when I go out or if there are any gatherings at home, but I have to be very careful. Since I value it the most, I really want to avoid dropping it somewhere difficult to retrieve.
I remember once when I threw away some tissues in the dustbin after wiping my hands at the washroom of my previous workplace, I was so panicked when I realized there was no ring on my finger. I thought that somehow it got stuck on the tissue papers and I quickly called my hubby if he did see the ring, but he was not sure himself. Without thinking any further, I covered my hands with some tissues and looked for it the dustbin! After a few minutes, I got the information that it was still safe in the jewelry box. Phewww... How could I forget?? Silly me...
Anyway, I just love my ring the way it is, gold with diamond.

Dear corrycrystal,
Wow, your story of the wedding ring really keep me
in suspense as I read further. Thank God it is safe
in your jewllery box. I can imagined and felt the
'panic' you go through at that moment.
I have a pair of my favourite silver-like earring.
I like to push my hair backward at times. So, one
day in a hurry while crossing the road, one side
of the earring drop off. It is a busy road, I try
to find it under the hot sun but in vain.
As I reached home, my husband just came back for lunch.
So, I tell him about it. He went and try to look for
it at the place I described to him. To my surprised he
went there and look for it. I think God bless him because
of his 'thoughtfulness', suddenly the sun shine brightly
onto something that reflects back...it is my eaerring under
a parked car tyre.... I think this is the only thing that is
'sweeet and thoguhtful' that my hubby did...
Thanks for the special story of the ring...truly appreciate it.
Do keep in touch and happy myLotting!

Hello iriene,
I have my wedding ring and my engagement ring. Right now I am wearing my engagement ring which is also a platinum ring with diamond.
You may ask why I don't wear my wedding ring. This is because my wedding ring is a gold ring, it is actually a couple wedding ring and my hubs has another one. He is not wearing the ring as he does not like anything on his finger. For me, I don't like gold ring so I just keep it.

Hello Iriene,
I think my hubs will happy to see this comment from yours and your compliments, . He isn't so thoughtful as you mentioned! I kinda forgot how he purpose for me but I was happy to see the diamond platinum ring. But I do remember he bought the ring for me on my birthday, and it was considered as a birthday gift and a engagement ring too! He saved some money, LOL! I was happy too This is because he never like to buy platinum jewelry as he claims that buying platinum is not a good invest! He prefers gold. So this platinum ring is quite meaningful to me as this is the only platinum jewelry he gave me, was his first time bought a piece of jewelry that is not made of gold.
My hubs is actually in insurance field. He is from Great Eastern. If you have any queries about life insurance you may let me know. PM me if you need any service from him, !

thoughtful and caring husband and father. You are very
lucky to find your the other half. I would say he is a

It is allright since you have replaced it. Anyway, the
love, trust and happiness that matter the most!
The price of gold has increased substantially since 911.
I still remembered during my wedding, the gold cost RM40/gm
but now it is like RM98/gm, I heard it went up as high as
RM120/gm. (Exchange rate of USD1 = RM3.5). It is good that
you love gold ring, it has resale value compared to platinum.

No Ring, no chain, no necklace, no band or bracelet!
But I thoug you always carry the 'bow and arrows'..

In actual fact buying jewelleries and wear them do pose
some danger and risk especially nowadays in Malaysia there
are so many snatchers. They like to pull the necklace especially
those office workers who take public transport to work in the
morning and back to work in the evening.

I used to wear wedding ring but after I delivered my baby, my fingers just could not fit into the ring anymore. Sigh! Therefore, the ring is being kept in the safe.
At first, I found a bit uneasy there is no accessories on my fingers, but after a while I think it is not a bad idea too because at least I can handle my house chores easily. I always worry that it will drop out when I am washing clothes and dish.
I love silver and platinum accessories, therefore I am now keeping a platinum wedding ring.

According to myLotter Linjinmiao (response no. 26), a

think it is good that we all mums do not wear ring
since we always handle young children whose immunity
is low. Better be cautious...
Platinum ring looks class and not so obvious. For ladies,

Hello Iriene,
I am not sure whether I am belong to modern generation by choosing platinum wedding ring, but I guess platinum is more suits my skin complexion. If I am not wrong, gold accessories is more suitable for lady who has tanned skin?
Most of my wedding gift are gold accessories and they all are now kept in the safe. Of course gold items are more valuable than platinum.
Platinum with diamond...I should have choose one but I did not. Love is blind. When I was choosing the wedding ring, I just care to protect my husband's money, do not want to burn a big hole in his pocket. Now I am regret! LOL.
Thank you for the info about ring might carries germs. Now I know why wedding rings cannot be worn into the operating room.

I am a male person of 48 from India. I always use a plain gold (18 ct) ring marked as 'Q' at its center, at my right hand ring-finger as per our local tradition. I have been using this for the last 24 years. This has a very good scientific meaning also! That is, gold being a yellow bright metal, is effective for good and a glowing health, if it is used in contact with our body. Most women here wear gold ornaments of various designs as a matter of tradition.
Thanks for this nice posting and have a nice day!

I have all but silver, but seldom wear them, now that i am mostly at home doing house chores. I feel the rings a bit nuisance for house chores, and esp. with chemicals. Putting on and off is likely to result in loss. I had that sad experience with a diamond ring, but found after a few days on the floor by its sparkling shine. On formal occasions, I might pick up one to suit the settings.

No I don’t like rings. Kidding I do live with my partner but we are not married we have been living together for 2 years and so far no ring. I do give him hints or just tell him that I would love for him to get me a ring one of this days but all he tells me is “you know I am but I don’t have the money”. I guess I would wait until I am 80 or more since the story with him is always the same I don’t have money. But I rather get it when he wants to get it with out me telling him.

Dear desteny,
I totally agreed with you :~
'I rather get it when he wants to get it with out me telling him.'
My husband is 'blur' or pretend to be 'dumb'. I hinted to him
before that I like a beautiful diamond ring that was on display
in a jewellery shop which we always passed by there. It was on a
fantastic offer like 60% off. I can afford to buy it myself...but
it won't have that 'special touch'
So, I had this 'cold war' with my hubby. He said buying platinum
diamond ring is waste of money, it is the worst investment because
diamond value will drop, moreover the platinum have 'zero' resale
value. But to me is different case, I am not selling it, why I bother
about resale value...it is SENTIMENTAL VALUE to me. So
I cried for nearly a month, so he gave up and brought me there...
The ring was no more there, some one else has bought it. So the
lady boss suggested to me to 'special order' with similar design.
It became more costly...my husband have to charge his credit card on
it...
You know what, I hardly wear it because it only reminds me of my
one month tears not the romantic moment and sentimental valeu...
So, wise up and be happy...
