Well, the husband is away on a business trip, it's our wedding Anniversary today, although we'll be doing something special when he comes back. Well, I'll probably be going on one of my power hikes where I do my sprints. Afterwards am meeting up with a friend for Vietnamese food , in particular my Seafood pho soup which I love, as I love anything ethnic, followed by dinner at my parents place later on. Its a nice relaxing day and I don't want to spend it doing nothing. How about you? What are you up to today? I hope you're not going to say, "nothing".

If it doesn't rain anymore today, we are going to go to the Home Depot to get some insulation for our attic. I just love the coupons that they send for holiday weekends. 10% off your purchase and 12 months same as cash. Not to mention they've brought back the energy efficiency tax credit. Also, regardless of the weather, we have to go to my in-law's house to pick up our daughter who spent the night with them last night. They are also supposed to cook some hot dogs and ribs for dinner. Not a lot to do really, but the fact that I get to spend an extra day with my husband this week makes it all worth it.

Sorry I am a day late in responding to your discussion. Happy Anniversary and many more. We went to one of the local casino's yesterday, played for a long time, ate dinner and came home. Our kids were busy so we didn't get the chance to see them. The balance of the evening was lazy and I love lazy! Did nothing and accomplished nothing..lol

Our oldest daughter was busy traveling back from her boyfriend's parent's house about 4 hrs. away. Our middle daughter was on the road with her husband and baby and our youngest lives in another state. Many holidays we can't spend together since our middle daughter and her husband are firefighters/paramedics. Their schedules change and they have to work holidays when scheduled. They love their jobs and I love what they are doing to help others.

Hello carolbee,
Oh thank you too for the Anniversary wishes. Not the same without the husband here but oh well...Sometimes you just need one of those relaxing, quiet days where you just get to chill and do nothing. Well, you did venture out at least carolbee? :) The casino, yeah I'm not much of a gambler because I'm always too afraid to lose so not me, but glad you had fun though. Oh well, too bad you couldn't see your kids...

Hello friend!
Well it sounds like you had a nice day on Friday, I mean who doesn't enjoy delicious food and socializing.. I know I'm supposed to be going out today but haven't managed to get myself off this site yet! Mad at myself about that...Oh well... Vietnamese food, I absolutely adore it because I'm always open to different cultures and ethnic food in particular. Well, Vietnamese food is very popular with its delicious soups called Pho that I usually order. The stock is usually beef broth, with vermicelli (rice noodles) some kind of meat, I usually chose shellfish, also has bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, fish balls, and it's divine! You can also season it with hoisin sauce and hot sauce as well if you want some "heat". I always order a small size and the bowls are huge!
Now if you don't want soup there are also the salad rolls which are made of rice paper, vermicelli noodles, will have pork or shrimp in them and are served with a peanut dipping sauce. There are also spring rolls (deep friend) and quite good. Also the meat skewers are delicious too. They're usually flat pounded down pieces of meat that are bbq on skewers, and topped with chopped peanuts, cilantro and a dipping sauce. If you're going to one of those restaurants I'd even ask what's the most popular option? Anyway, if you enjoy trying different kinds of food, I think you'll really enjoy it. Plus for the most part, Vietnamese food is quite healthy too, not heavy or stodgy. Let me know if you do. :) Oh thank you for the Anniversary wishes. I just received a huge monster bouquet from the hubby, that he had sent over while in NY. Yes I'm a lucky gal...:)

Well first of all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Secondly, my husband and I decided to spend today shopping. We went out to see what kind of labor day specials we could find. We ventured so the outlets about an hour from our house. There were definitely a lot of sales but we didn't by much. Now we're home and just spending the rest of the day relaxing. Going to make some homemade pizza later tonight and watch TV - YUM and FUN! lol

Hello Jenn,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Yes I'm spending it with me, myself and I...;) I just came back from my lunch with a friend, followed by power walk in the park/woods. It was the weirdest thing too because I was approached by this stranger who shook my hand, kissed it, complimented me on my looks, and asked me to join him in the woods? Aw no thanks...He could be some pervert, well told him I was married and then he promptly asks me out for dinner? Some people don't get the msg. Oh and I should point out that he was old enough to be my father! Eeeks! not my cup of tea. Oh that's fun going to those outlets, esp when you have lots of mullah to spend. Were they packed today? I would think so. Although I love shopping, I really don't like being in crowds, almost too claustrophobic for me. Ooh homemade pizza, love that especially with everything on it like peppers, onions, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, oregano, pineapple, etc. I'm taking it easy eating lightly today, since we had Mexican the other day. Well you have fun too now!!

Happy Anniversary! Hope you had a great day, I love Vietnamese food, first tasted it on my honeymoon (in Maine!)
My husband decided to go into work today. He is the payroll clerk, and tomorrow is the day he does all the stuff for that, but its all a bit mad this week because on Wednesday we fly to England (where I'm from, we live in Massachusetts, where HES from!) for a two week vacation. Actually on Saturday its my parents 50th wedding anniversary, so I will be there for that. (I'm in charge of decorations for the party, with my sister in law, I have two days when we get there, no time for jet lag!) So, hubby got a pile of work done today so he'll be all ready to go.
So with the house to myself, I did a load of housework so when we come home theres nothing to do, and a huge pile of laundry, and apart from a few things which still need to be washed, etc I am all packed.
Tomorrow while hes at work I am planning to do a bit more mylotting, since I have got everything done! I am not going to be on much for a couple of weeks, so I thought I would try and crank up my posts a bit tomorrow and try and get a bit nearer to payout!
So that was my day!

Well hello EnglishTeaDuck, (cute name btw)!
Thank you for the Anniversary wishes. You must be so excited to visit your family & friends!!! I know I would be. I was in England last year visiting friends in Tynemouth, Newcastle and London and the people in the Tynemouth were really nice and friendly. Where will you be visiting? So, I enjoyed the sightseeing, meeting people, but not the food so much, although I did like the Indian takeaways though. A lot of my friends have moved to Europe though so I try to see them as much as I can. Wow your parents have been married for 50 yrs. That is an achievement in itself in today's day. I'm sure it will be a big bash for them. Oh yeah now you have to do all the "humdrum" packing, housework and all those little but stressful last minute things. Well have a wonderful vacation and I hope you wind up putting some comments up around here, the travel section or wherever...? :)

Hi mysecret,
You're right that Walmart is great for sales, the only thing I have to admit is that I can't STAND being in crowds, and Walmart tends to be quite busy with long crowds. If I'm not home I can usually be found at a coffee place like Starbucks or something, or doing yoga somewhere.

My day is rather boring. My husband has to work so we had to have the family over Sunday. So my Labor day was yesterday. We had a lovely cook out with lots of good food and lots of good company. My husband grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, and shrimp. They were so good. We also listened to lots of good old country music. So yesterday was pretty good.
Today I am catching up on my email. I am also watching three movies with Chuck Noris in them. I watched Breaker Breaker and now Lone Wold McQuad is on and after that comes Code of Silence. These are great movies I am sorry my husband can not be here with me. After the last movie I will start dinner. I guess we will have a few left overs because I hate to waste food and enjoy a movie on dvd tonight before we go to bed.
Like I said today is very boring.

Hi sizzle,
Sometimes boring is good. I admit although I made plans today, I don't really feel like keeping them as I'm starting to feel kind of sluggish and not very motivated. Was supposed to go for my hike (hasn't happened yet), supposed to meet my friend for lunch (haven't called her yet to confirm), I've just been mylotting instead...lol Sounds like you had a great weekend though with lots of yummy food! We ate a ton of food yesterday, so that's probably why I'm sluggish today. I guess you had shrimp skewers I'm guessing? So, you have your movies all picked out. Maybe later I'll watch a movie also. I should probably go for my hike, or not...

Well usually I'm the type of person that says nothing but today after my partner gets back we're going to eat some lunch. Then I'm tutoring a child about 3 and then after that, I'm really not that sure. We talked about the possibility of grilling out some today but it's been kind of rainy off and on today so I'm not sure if we'll do that or not. I'm not sure if we even have a lot of things to grill in our fridge/freezer but I guess we'll see. I guess our plans are still up in the air.

hello,
I guess we're one of those people that barbecue even if it's raining or snowing outside. Yeah I guess we're probably weird but we enjoy barbecued food. What are you tutoring the child in? Rainy weather...yes we've been having enough of that and I thought to myself that yesterday seemed like October, really rainy & windy and I actually felt like hibernating and avoiding people.

Hi arcidy,
I've always found it's better to get monotonous things like schoolwork out of the way first, so that way you can enjoy the rest of your day, without it "looming" in your mind. Oh that Tom Cruise movie, right. I haven't seen it and not sure if I will. It wasn't based on a true story was it? Yes I'm trying to get my but out to go workout but would rather mylot before I go for lunch. I feel so unproductive today...

i took my son to a really nice state park here in nj and we walked on some of the nature trails, played in the playground and visited the old family mansion on the property that was absolutely beautiful. we stayed for about two hours and the weather was perfect with a bit of a breeze and some sun and clouds but a nice mild temperature so being outdoors was pleasant and not unbearable like it was a couple of short weeks ago. it was nice to get out for a bit. now we are home getting everything ready for school tomorrow which started for us last wed with half days for the first three days and now it is back to full time reality. i like having more of a schedule though.

My Labor Day was spent working at my two jobs! One is my part-time job at a horse stable. Then I worked at my full time job as a dishwasher at a college. I have not had a Labor Day off in 9 years! I don't mind! I get paid time and a half when I work holidays! That makes working on Labor Bay ok then!
