Would you ask for toilet paper from the person in the stall next to you?

I recently went to NYC and I was using the bathroom in Grand Central station (which is always busy) the toilet paper was getting low and I thought if it were empty would I ask for toilet paper from the person in the stall next to me? It's not like you have much of a choice which stall you choose because you just take the next available one.
Even if the situation were switched and someone asked you for toilet paper from your stall would you hand it to them? What if you don't give them enough and they ask for more? I think it would be slightly awkward but I would feel bad for that person if they didn't have toilet paper.

Been there, done that, from both sides of the problem! I don't think it should be a big deal. It's a little embarrassing, but it'd be weird for someone to refuse to help you!
