I can not say that I remember the most expensive gift I had given anyone. While I did give gifts on birthday's and christmas etc to friends, I had not so much to family I know very bad of me. I had a few times before I quit my job, and then we (my fiance and I) didn't have much money, and though we picked up giving gifts, to my family we hadn't given many ... Money was very tight but is better, and once I get a job will be even better! In any case, the most expensive gift I can think of receiving would either be a palm pilot I wanted at one time, either that or it would have ot be a keyboard (piano) that I had received and wanted. Both of these gifts were from my grandmother.

Gift giving is a great thing, yes, and it feels good to be able to afford gifts for so many people, especially with an extended family! Giving gifts to friends on top of that, is rewarding as well! Money is hard to come by these day, and in ways that it should matter, money is not spent as often! I appreciate your comment back to me, have a great day.

The most expensive gift I've received is expensive in that it's sort of one of a kind. It's an autograph from Kiwi actor Karl Urban with my name on it and everything! I'm not sure how much (if even) it would sell for online, but there's no way I'm ever parting with it. It's much more valuable to me than its dollar worth.

Hi jaiho, We don't belong to rich families and we as kids, were just to happy to receive anything of any value, especially on Christmas and birthdays. I can't remember anything of high value that I received when I was a kid, but maybe a toy car or a shirt. I am a bit losing my memory, maybe it comes with the age. lol But I remember I bring two of my kids and my wife to the dentist, March of this year, to have our teeth checked and cleaned. So when did you receive you new car and who and why gave you that? Neil

Sure I remeber my last gift that i gave it to a girl . It was to a friend of mine , last month , but it wasn`t so expensive . Total cost 50 Lei ( that means almost $20 ) . I brought her a little statue , a little fire extinctor and some orange roses . But she was so amaised about that fire extinctor . She loved it , even a girl told me to buy her too one, and she will pay me for that . The flowers were so nice, she told me that she saw them better the next day , and she loved them so much .

The most expensive gift i have ever given was a £200 silver bracelet for my brother's 18th birthday. As for the most expensive i have recieved, i don't ask what my presents cost but i'm assuming it would be my desktop computer that my parents bought for me a couple of christmases ago.

Once I gave away a really expensive dress to a former girlfriend of mine. I much rather give those things than jewlery, because I hate the later. I did it to impress her and she really was impressed. How impressive is that? ;)

that's great you had impressed her. Not all girls likes to be gifted with dresses,i guess girls like jewelries more than dresses. And i guess you really had given her a beautiful dress that is why she was so impressed and maybe, you had given her one her dreamed dress... Thanks for your responce friend and have a good day always

The most expensive gift i have recieved is the wedding ring from my hubby which worths 5 hundred dollars . Actually i don't care about rings because i don't like to wear rings at all. Therefore i asked him not to buy too expensive one for me. Well the most expensive gift i have given is a new computer for my niece . I like her very much so i always try my best to make her happy.

hi jaiho! the most expensive gifts i made for my family were jewelry for my mom and wallets for my father and brothers. it definitely cost me three months of my salary, woh! as for friends, i considered my drawings the most expensive ones. it took me sleepless nights and real effort to finish their portraits to give it to them, lol. the most expensive gifts i recvd so far are the laptop flybook and pda phone ( which got stolen last year, darn!) and now my celphone, digi camera and jewelry. am wishing to have a new car and a house and lot! haha! ü

hello karen, No my dear,im not rich.5thousand is not a big amount of gift esp with weddings, and you are invited or even one of the sponsors. Here in my country, wedding sponsors were always expected to give expensive gifts and even big amount of money. And since it's my closefriend wedding, and that she only weds once in her life that is why i really give her a special gift... And that car...my husband gifted me last December 2008. Thanks for your responce dear and happy mylotting

The most expensive gift I have given I think was probably to my husband 2 Christmas's ago, I bought him a new digital camera. Photography is his hobby and he loved it, it killed me keeping it a secret til Christmas day...lol The most expensive and probably the best present I have recieved - some close friends from my church paid for the plan tickets for my husband and I to go to England (I am English but live in America, married an American) for two weeks. I had not been 'home' for two years and we couldn't afford to do it, and I had just found my birth family (I am adopted and had been looking since childhood for them) but couldn't go over and meet them. So my friends decided they wanted to do that as a gift.

I run out of words while readin your responce dear. Your friends were too generous and you are so lucky to have them. And reading your second responce is another astonishing reply from you. Yah,the guestbook really matters and would mark this special event in your parents lives." HAPPY ANNIVERSSARY" kindly convey my greetings to them dear. And the cushion with your embroidery, the handworks, your very own art,i always love personalized works given to me. I am also giving my own art/handworks to special people in my life. I knew your parents would love that cushion and would always thank you for that guestbook. Thanks for your responce and sharing your life dear, and enjoy the occassion

On the other side - gifts that hardly cost anything -... I am going to England again (last time was three years ago now) on Wednesday and on Saturday it is my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary - 50 years! I could not afford to go over and to get them a gift, I'm on unemployment at the moment, so we got them a small thing - a little guest book that people at their party can sign, and I have made a little cushion, the front of which I did a cross stitch design of a Bible verse (they are Christians) along with the dates of their wedding and anniversary etc. It cost me next to nothing, I cut up some material I already had for the fabric and already had thread as I do cross stitch anyway. I hope they will like it, I was up til 4.30am yesterday finishing it, but I am pleased with the result.

The most expensive gifts I've ever given have been to my daughter. I have one child and it's her so I've always tried to make birthdays and Christmas, any holiday really, as special as I can and that includes lots of presents. Since I've never had a lot of money, I could never give her what I thought she deserved but I've given her several hundreds of dollars of different things that I know she likes. That amount of money for me is equivalent to several thousands for other people because I have a limited income. The most expensive gift I ever received was a car, it was a used car but still, it was new to me.
