We watched so many Sci-Fi movies which show people and robots travelling thro time. D u think its practically possible to travel thro time? i dunno if anybody agrees to this logic - if we conquer the speed of light, seems building a time machine is possible. how many of u have the fantasy to travel thro time? i do. it wud be wicked!!! totatally crazzy to travel thro time.. However i feel we shud jus be spectators while travelling thro time.. otherwise jus like science is mis-used nowadays..bad guys wud manipulate so many things..

even though it is a long time fantasy of man to travel in time. it does not seem to be a reality. (even though much research is going on). the complexity of the possibility makes it highly unlikely. (for example a slightest manipulation can have drastic consequences). however visualizing a different time zone might be remotely possible. my this view is based on the fact that Nostradamus could visualize the future - so such a thing may be possible but without an ability to make an impact.

I think that it will never happen. If there were a time machine, that means people from the future can come to OUR time. And if they are here, we should be able to notice them, unless they are very secretive. And if we could travel through time, then one of us might mess up history. It could have disastrous effects throughout time...
We will probably develop Warp Drive before we can time travel...

Most of the science fact articles that I have read on the subject agree that it probably isn't possible. At least according to our current understanding of things it isn't. But yeah, wouldn't it be cool to go back and see somebody famous who you really admire or see if the history books got something right or see some amazing natural phenomenon?

Time travel is already possible per our perception. Looking at the sun is looking 8 minutes into the "past."
I think the fact that time is relative is really proof that time travel is theoretically possible, just because time isn't a "thing" so much as it is a concept.
As far as the Michael J. Fox version with Doc in the DeLorean, I'm not too sure about that. 88mph will not cut the mustard. However, some theorize that if a person could travel light speed, what we know as "time" would essentially stop, like pushing pause on the DVD, and the faster and further we go, the more we actually begin to go backwards through "time."
For all you time travel enthusiasts, here's some hope! Dinosaurs ruled the earth for nearly 2,000,000 years! People, on the other hand, have only been around for about 200,000. Look how far we are into our evolution already. Heck, I'm typing an answer on a machine that is connected to virtually everything. The advancements humans have made are astounding, especially considering two facts: We've only been here 1/10th as long as the dinosaurs, and we barely use half of our brain's capacity!
We're learning new things every day. I don't know if a person could physically exist in an alternate time, but my grandfather also had no clue what a computer was.

Everything is possible I think, especially during this great and changing time.If it is built, some historical secrets may get answered well and histories which are cruel or tragic may be changed. Then the world may be different.Otherwise,we should consider that how about if it is mis-used..The topic of traveling throw time is a big challenge to scientists and humans.

I love the idea of a time machine being invented by all the boffins of this world! I'm thinking that it's probably quite impossible though. I know that Einstein mentioned something about the possibility of travelling back in time, something to do with one of his space discussions! I'm into space and I tend to watch those space programs 'Universe' being one of them. Anyway, the scientists talk about our Universe constantly expanding from the beginning of time and the further that the telescopes look out into the Universe the further back in time we go! This is interesting. Well, it's a kind of time travel with the eyes if that makes any sense! Physical time travel though may never take place but then again we just don't know what kind of technology is going to be created in the future. Andrew

I think we can't get back the past .We only can keep the current status in maxi range without following time pass by . To be simpliest , you can gone to another space which is completely not same as you are now .Maybe you would stay at a especial service and live for a long time . When you get out from that space ,maybe you would look like more younger than others people borned in the same year .Things seems haven't been changed .You are no changes ,but others lives make a big changes .It seem no sense to do as this ...

i do believe anything is possible in this technological and scientific generation, since we have the stem cell innovation which can prolong one's life by as much as 40 years , i do believe sometimes in the future mankind will live forever and people will not die again

Practically I don't think thats gonna happen.
But as far as theories are concerned there are certain theories like special and general relativity that suggest it might be possible for time travel by using certain geometries of space time.If one were to move matter or information from one point to another with a speed greater than light then according to special relativity there exists some inertial frame of reference in which the signal or object is moving backwars in time.
and many theories are also there explaining how time travel could be achieved.one should ahve aclear idea about theories of relativities for understanding these concepts.
One most commonly used term for timetravel is through wormholes which we often see in movies and books and there are some using quantum physics etc etc
SO Theoretically its possible but practically if they achieve it I don't think I would be alive to see it...

Logically it will never happen. If it does, I think we shouldn't worry too much about traveling to the far future but the immediate future where you can see what your friends are going to do and what your spouse is up to and so on. It will be kind of like voyeurism. Even if it is possible to build one I don't think it's a good idea. It'll be an invasion of privacy.

Well there are probably a bunch of physicists that are just saying "no way". I agree with them, i don't know all the physics behind why it's impossible to travel time but i can state my logic. If a time machine was bound to be built in the future wouldn't that mean that some time people would time travel which would we'd see an effect on society which we don't. People would travel back in time to help accelerate the progress mankind. But there's lots of possiblity that that may affect the future making in different. You have to consider that if we changed the course of time what affect it would bring on the original time line? will the altered time create a new dimension? or would it replace the old one with there only being one universe existing in time at once.

I think I would love one myself, as a big Doctor Who fan I would quite like to run away with the Doctor in the Tardis (Ninth Doctor, please, fellow whovians, if any are reading!)
But having said that, its probably not a good idea because all sorts of loonys would get hold of it and try and change history to their advantage etc...and some nasty things could happen...!
