I've come across lot of people who like to play video games mentioning that its not only fun but also helps one's brain work faster. Cud it be possibly true? definitely playing video games needs speed and great co-ordination between hands and mind.

I think that they are good for you. Depending on the game, they can make your responses quicker - both mind and body. Plus I think that it can sharpen your concentration, and most importantly they are fun!

I think it depends on the game. I enjoy playing the Wii as many of their games are interactive and require you to actually do stuff as opposed to just sitting there shooting the bad guys on the screen for hours. Don't get me wrong, sometimes mindless games are good for relaxation, but if the game can serve a dual purpose, that's even better.

i do agree that video games helps in making our brain sharp, especially if the games are education, simulation...i love playing mystery video games like nancy drew and law and order game, i enjoy the game, and i learn alot from the game too. Puzzle games makes your mind think, and sharpen some problem-solving skills.. There are some games that helps you exercise too, like the games in WII..

I do not know and I think maybe it could help--you need a co-ordination and good reaction in a game. But sometimes game wastes lots of money and I know several of my classmates are destroyed by game and learn nothing in the university except the skills of game.It really can make people addictive.however, just have a fun and relax yourself in a game.It is a good part of this electronic world.

I think it depends on the game your are playing. If you are playing a strategy or rpg, it requires thinking and fast reactions. But, then again, if you are playing a shooter which requires you to be ready and make quick moves (like halo), that can sharpen you up too.

well quite of people argue that video games melt your brain, and turn you into a complete idiot. This is absolute bulls#!%. I played video games my whole life and I still passed school with a 90 average. I do think that video games help up with our hand-to-eye coordination. I have really good reflexes and i do think that is partially do to those rainy days spent inside. Any ways video games can be good for you in other ways like just relaxing is incredibly beneficial and can help reduce the risk of heart attack.

I agree to that. Computer games require strategy and fast thinking in order to win. Though I use cheating method on some especially on business tycoon kind of games well, that's my strategy~~~ That goes the same for any type of game. Well, it's fine to play games as long as we don't spend too much time playing and not doing anything else.
