Now I was taking my core course as a first year graduate student in biochemistry. The advisor gives us two papers to read and at the weekend we will submit two critique about these papers and have a paper discussion class for it.Although I admit that the reading is very useful and helpful for improving my understand about my major and the development of cutting-edge life science, the work is really hard.At first I even can not understand what is said in the papers, not to mention write critiques and discuss them. Now I have become adapted to the paper and I have learned a lot from the experience. From now on I will prepare my core class proposal which requires me reading about 30-40 papers to gain the backgrand and method of the field of my proposal. It sounds crazy and all the work will be finished in a mouth. Now I know that the PHD study and training in the top universitied in US are absolutely strict. There is no doubt that the scientific level of USA is on the leading level of the world.

There is definitely a lot of reading in college. I like to read but when I was in college I read so much that I thought that it was something that I really needed to do and did not want to do, so it put me off of reading for awhile. I am happy to say that I am back on reading and enjoy it.
