How do you get around an admin lock or get the password

My dad put me on restricted acess cuz he doesn't want me to screw up my own comp (understandably so) but I really want to download a couple of things and I can't without his password, which he wont give me. Don't worry, its my comp, not his.

Look for Austrumi 0.92 Live Linux cd (i have yet to try it on Vista though) which has a utility called NT Pass built into it. It will allow you to reset the password of the admin account. i think the Trinity Rescue Kit has it as well but...in order to get both of these you need to download the ISO files and burn them to a cd which means you'll probably need admin privs anyway. ;)

There must be a good reason your dad put you on restricted access. And why would he be doing this if it's your computer? Very strange situation.

Not recommended if you don't know what you do ! Open the pc, take out the bios pile, start the pc, go into bios, reset passw .. etc etc Highly not recommended if you have no idea what can be and how to deal with. Best ever top 1 all time winner solution: Buy a 1-5 Gb flash drive. Go to a public internet cafe or to a friend home, download whatever you want on that flash drive, come back home and use the downloads.
