What is happening in public hospitals here in Australia...
We have a Government who is throwing so much money to people to help the countries economy, to people who are running over to other countries to spend it and to dead people and I did read to people in gaol and at the same time people in public hospitals are being told to bring their own cup to give a sample in and a patient who thought she may have swine flu was told to go to a large hardware store to buy a mask because they don't supply them anymore......something doesn't seem right to me....

Hello my friend lilaclady Ji,
Our side there is saying, means a sweetmaker never takes sweets, below the lighting lamp, there is always darkness and so on. Australia may be giving out to many but for its own , it is dark. Charity should start at your own home. Govt. should be reminded in clear terms.
May God bless you and have a great time.

Hello lilaclady. It sounds strange for the public hospital to tell its patient to go to a large hardware store to buy a mask. At the beginning of this month I got a high fever and I went to a privat hospital for a check up. I was given a mask to wear after I was confirmed to have a high fever. It was free for the mask. Ours is still a developing country while Australia is a developed one. I find it really hard to understand in that situation. Good day, friend.

Well, not an australian in here so can't exactly share what you experience. I think must public hospitals are condemned to be badmouthed anyway, because it's a public service belonging to the government, so that makes it easier to be against it. Private hospitals can just make as much of a bad service, but people still complain less...I wonder why?

Let us be honest about the whole matter. The provision of health services cannot be considered like any other business corporation where targets in profits are annually increased and the main aim of the services provided is to make money. In a great many other areas, money can be the main consideration but not, most certainly not when sickness is concerned. That the sick should be exploited in this manner is nothing short of disgraceful. Money has power in many areas, but let the treatment of the sick stand apart from these other areas. Healing, alleviation of illness and distress is the one area in society where the Government of the day should take greater concern as it involves the health of its citizen. Fortunately our public hospitals in Malaysia are well taken care of by our Government and the facilities here are excellent.

Public institutions can be ridiculous sometimes and it has to do with they way things are run.
It could be the budget they have.
Its ridiculous but it does pan out that way at times.

Your government should prioritize first you citizen before helping other countries. A healthy people is important to a county economy. I f the citizen is not properly take care of, this would likely affect the productivity which lead to business profits and less income for the taxes which government collect..

I do not know in your place but if you would go in my place you can see a much worst scenario. I think we all are facing some kind of a crisis economically and maybe one the basic things that we have to face right now is medical services provided for by the government.

People have to care that are in that type of work!! I think that any country can make it work BUT they have to work together. Economy can be a real problem and the ones in the know need to work on that source of availability. It doesn't seem right but that is because we are used to a different way.
