Have you ever accidently put too much seasoning on your food?

I like using seasonings like salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc. when preparing my meals. But ever time I grab the salt shaker, I open the wrong end and it all comes pouring out onto my food(Yuk). Then I try to wash it off or just throwing it out. You ever have those kind of accidents with your food? It hasn't happen to me in a while, but it did happen to my brother-n-law today and instead of washing off the meat, he said he just tried to rub the salt into all of the meat and we had some salty grilled meat today.LOL Lucky for him, I took the grilled meat, added water to the pan to absorb the salt. It worked on most of it.

It really hasn't happened when I was eating. However it has happened when i was cooking. We had to end up washing it off with water to get all the spices and salt off.

Thank God, I haven't. I wouldn't know what to do and it would be so sad if all those food would be put to waste.Ö

Sometimes my husband used to put too much pepper and other kinds of spices on our food, but that's only because he's used to cooking much spicier food. We have had to work together to come up with an amount of spice that we can both agree on. It took a while, but we have figured it out.

Yes, and it is a disaster. It is not like you can take it off and put it back in the bottle again. I just think there are some people in the orient and India perhaps htat like their food extra spicy and would not complain about too much spice but I certainly would.

We had quite an accident with salt too once. My sister and I were making salsa, and she was the one who seasoned it as I'm not really good at gauging the saltiness of it. So I went away for a while and when I came back, she was already panicking because she put in too much salt and the salsa was waaay too salty. My mom thinks that it was because she was talking too much and not really paying attention while she was seasoning it. We tried to save it by draining out the tomato sauce and then putting in a new pack and I think she also put in some sugar, but the salt was already absorbed by the solid ingredients. It did lessen the saltiness just a bit, but it was still a bit much.
