How many have lived in Chicago? What is your favorite part? Where do you hang out, what do you do? I miss it soooooo much, I want to go back so bad! Talk to me about it so I can relive my time there.

I am originally from Milwaukee but I have always loved Chicago. I visited a lot when I was going to school at Great Lakes. I love the downtown. It is a great place to eat one of those famous Chicago hot dogs and people watch. I like to ride the El. I love the holiday decorations on State St. I love to walk around Soldier Field and think of all the names that made her great: Payton, Sayers, Singletary
This might sound kind of crazy but you might want to buy DVDs of some of those movies that were filmed in Chicago. Some of them have kind of corny plots and are for kids but they have some great shots of the downtown. Here are a few of them:
Adventures in Babysitting
Curly Sue
Baby's Day Out
Ferris Beuhler's Day Off
Uncle Buck
Judgement Night (Shows some of the seedier areas of Chicago)

I grew up in Chicago, near Midway Airport. I lived in that house from 12-18 then I went off to college in Missouri. After I quit school at 20 I stayed in Missouri where I got married and had a baby. Then the three of us moved back to Chicago to live with my parents were we were for almost 5 years. We live outside of Pittsburgh now but my dad still lives in that house.
I like visiting Chicago but I hated living there. I hated all the noise and traffic and crime. My dad said they had their first gang fight on our block a few weeks ago and people keep getting their car windows smashed and garages broken into.
My favorite part about Chicago was taking the "L" downtown when I was in high school and just walking down State Street in the winter with all the Christmas decorations in the windows. Or sitting in the harbor watching the sailboats in the summer. I also love Brookfield zoo. We had a membership after our kids were born and went there every other week just for a few hours. There is a zoo here in Pittsburgh but it isn't the same.
