Errors on your posts - Are you bothered?

I admit, I'm quite up-tight in terms of grammar and spelling in my posts here in mylot and in real. I don't know, perhaps I just feel annoyed when I see typos and grammar error after I read my comment. The hardest part is that I can't do anything about it.
I know I should proof-read more but knowing I'd only get paid like $0.01 per post doesn't really pay me much for the efforts, but still they do bother me (the typos).
Does it bother you after reading your very own post and finding you sounded off or had a lot of typos and grammatical errors?

I would be bothered by a large amount of typos in my posts since I usually only make brief posts. But I do go a lot on quality versus quantity. I would rather put down less and convey my opinion than just jabber on about nothing.

It's true that it's important to be direct and straight to the point, but you know there are advantages of having to expound things further. One would be the fact that you can well support your thoughts with several sentences more (there are those people who can't really get the point right away, that's why a good supporting sentence or two would suffice), and of course, not to mention that the computers of mylot are basing your pay (part of it) from the extent or length of your post (it perhaps is weird but how could a computer really tell if you're talking in detail - it can't really understand what you're saying but it could definitely count the number of sentences or length of your post). hehhee
Just my cent.

That's one thing I like about myLot. If you misspell something, it underlines it in red. That makes it a little easier. Of course, I'm no grammar expert, so sometimes I have to go to the dictionary and see how to properly spell some words.
Otherwise, now and again, the words are spelled correct I just typed the wrong word. LOL This usually happens if I am in the middle of a conversation with someone else while I am trying to input.
Of course, we can't go back and correct it unless we preview the response first, so I just don't sweat it.

Hello laydee. I feel bothered if I find mistakes I have made in the discussions or responses I make. I always think that I am supposed to be careful enough not to make those silly mistakes, but still I do sometimes. Anyway, I comfort myself that mylot friends understand me. . So let's not feel so bothered by them again since friends can understand us. Good day, friend.

Yes, it bothers me. I'm usually kind of hasty and I would usually hit the post button without really reviewing, so yeah, I get typos and grammatical errors. Once I accidentally wrote "I am so annoying!" instead of "I am so annoyed!" So, yeah I just embarrassed myself there LOL! It's funny though, because when I answer discussions like this, I try to be extra careful and reread my post carefully before posting.

Why bother. I know some of us come from different backgrounds where English neither our official nor second language. The best thing is just to get the point he or she is trying to say.

yes, it is frustrating to see an erroneous post especially if they only concern a very simple grammatical error or a simple spelling error.
what i do is "run after" my post and immediately correct it as an addendum....

Hi there!
You and I are in the same boat. I also commit lots of mistakes either typo or grammatical, specially when I am in a hurry to post my responses. However, when I re-read the response/comments after submission and find that there are some errors which could change the meaning of my response, I feel bad. I sometimes, miss to type the word 'NOT' in a sentence, which could change the meaning of a sentence completely. . I immediately try to submit a corrigendum to my response, if time permits. However, I feel that most of my friends understand what I want to convey, even if there are some errors in my submission.

Since we dont see each other the only thing we have to go by is our discussions. I am anal about commas and capitals, etc. I think it says alot about a person when you see that they are educated. I do think we should get paid more, who wouldnt. I think that a few typos are just what they are. A few typos. You can tell the difference between typos and being uneducated. It says alot about a person. It shows your are educated. More importantly it shows that you took the time to think about your response. You didnt rush. Your mind is a terrible thing to waste. Here we push our children to stay in school and focus. We should do the same. Just my thoughts. dl

Some times it do happen that there might be some spelling mistakes or even would miss a word in our comments or responses. It doesn't feel good to see a response or a comment with wrong spelling or grammar as its a matter of ego & reputation rather than money.
Happy Lotting

Same to me . If i've made any errors in tying or grammar in my posts i would feel very uncomfortable and couldn't stand it at all . I don't have the habit to preview what i write before i post . When i make posts i check at the same time. However sometimes i write so many posts so that in the end i feel very tired and cann't check the errors out . Anyway i would try my best to get rid of the errors .

I do not generally make gramatical mistakes but most of the times i make spelling mistakes. That is because I type in a hurry and also because I got used to use short forms of the words like u for you and wht for what and so on. But after joining mylot, I made it a point to spell in full and correctly so that the reader doesnt need to read more than once to understand what I meant!!! Also you cant be sure about the amount they pay per post. Their payment is not fixed and it varies. i think they pay more for informative and quality content. Also i do not think that they give less for the mistakes you did , because they support members from all countries and since it is impossible for all people around the world to know correct english, they are lenient about it.

I'm a bit perfectionist and will go back and retype things a bit. But the area in which I have trouble is that my computer keeps telling me I spell things wrong!
This is not because of my spelling, but because I am English and the computer is American...lol....so I spend a lot of time shouting at it 'the U is STAYING!!!'

I hate posting a post with typos and grammar problems. But I'm not TOO finicky about it online, it's just when I see people with REALLY bad spelling or absolutely atrocious grammar that I want to scream and shout. I understand that English is a second language for many people on MyLot, but there are just some posts which don't even seem to try. Those are the ones that tick me off the most.

i feel also some what annoyed but i hope that the person i was talking with understands even there was a typo. i only log in at mylot on hours that are free so i can not always make sure that i press the right key on my keyboard. but i guess mostly of them understands what i was trying to say. when i read my response sometimes even me can not figure it out har har har then that is a big problem but i just laugh at myself with that stupidity

Yes, I sometimes get bothered with the errors on my posts, especially when the meaning of what I'm trying to say becomes unclear or ambiguous. But if mylot would give me like 3 cents per post, I would really make sure that there are no grammatical and typographical errors on my post.
