Is there one God in this world?

I am a christian when I was young.But recently,such unexpected things happened in my family.This is simply a disasterfor me!
Just now,I have something doubt with my faith.In my deep heart,ask me one question repeatly :is there one living God in this world?May the god will help me?

Their is only one God,that is the maker of heaven and earth
the alpha and the omega
the beginning and the end
the one that maketh all things possible
