I used to go to amusement park at least once a year. I have thought about it in spring, going to six flag where the rides are well known because I have not been any amusement park since I have moved here.
See the thing is I like exciting rides but I feel scared to go on it... cannot make up to mind that whether I want to go or not... so I have not been any amusement park so far... I kinda feel it will be a waste of money if I just go and check out without going on any rides - because it is what you suppose to do when you go to amusement park!
What about you?
Are you scared of those rides?
Do you play the craziest ones like slowly going up straight and drop down within like 3 seconds?....

We went to Hershey Park a few weeks ago. My kids rode the roller coasters but I waited on the sidelines. I don't do those anymore.

Canada's Wonderland is the closest to me but unaffordable this year. Haven't been to the CNE (Toronto) since I was a teenager. I hope to take my kids there before they leave the nest. The family always goes to our town's Fall Fair on Labour Day weekend. Well, this year the kids went one way and I went another and I was there by myself. So I didn't go on any rides. I watched the entertainment, bought a couple of goodies (2 necklaces, a hot dog and some candy floss), then my daughter and her friends caught up with me to watch the Car Derby (my only reason for attending the Fair this year really). It's no fun going to the Fair alone.

Ya i had been recently. They took us for a ride within the forest. We could see many different kind of species. Enjoyed a lot with it. Then later had been for a bird sanctuary we noticed a wide variety of species from all over the world. It was really amusing.

We have a Royal Show every year which is a huge fun park with exhibitions, stage shows etc. We don’t go every year because it is very expensive. I am not usually keen on the rides because I see no point in paying a lot of money for getting scared or sick! I don’t mind walking around checking everything out although it does get tiring and over crowded!

No , I haven't. The last time I went to the amusement park is a few years ago and I really like it and really wish to go. I'm not scared to try all the the game and like what you wrote, I even went to the craziest ones, the one slowly going up straight and drop down within 3 seconds. It felt great to do that. I live in Florida and I have Orlando approxamately 4hrs from me. I have annual passes to Busch Gardens and Sea World, also Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures. I did go to theme parks much as a kid but I go a lot more now. I think it is fun and everyone should go as much as they can.

yup!
I went to Canada's Wonderland this summer, twice. They have a huge rollercoaster called the behemoth. It's like, 200+ feet high and it'sa 3 minute ride. It's so intsense.
I'm a wimp when I'm standing in line n'stuff, but once I'm on the ride I'm fine. I don't get scared or sick from being on rollercoasters. I love them. Now that I'm older though I find myself more frightened of these rides, they make my stomach uneasy watching them go but I can go on them with ease. It's kind of weird.

I actually went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom located in Vallejo, California last month. It was my first time going to that amusement park and I had a great time. I rode on a few roller coasters (Kong and Boomerang), water rides and saw some animal shows (Shouka the Killer Whale and Odin's Temple). My only regret was that I was too scared to go on the Medusa ride. That one was a bit too scary for my taste. I liked the fact that I didn't have to wait too long to get on the rides. I think the average waiting time for me was around 15 to 20 minutes. But I thought I got my money's worth. I paid $30, went on 5 rides and saw two animal shows. I also got to see dolphins, penguins, and various other animals. It was really fun.

the waiting time was not too bad, sometimes we have to wait for hours when it is peak season!

I actually haven't been to one in about 6 years now. I just don't have the time or money anymore, and I don't feel it would be a good time. The rides are expensive, and as you said, can take as short as three seconds. I would rather go out to a movie with friends or go bowling.

I love going to amusement parks and going on the roller coasters. The high, faster, more extreme, the better. Yes, it's scary and I get the butterflies, but I think that's the whole point. I go on and scream and laugh and have fun.
This year we went to Six Flags Great America in Illinois. It wasn't crowded and we did all the coaster, a few a couple of times. I usually take my teenage nieces and nephews and I think they think it's cool that their usually serious quiet Aunt gets on these rides and let's a little bit loose.

It sounds very very exciting but I don't think I could be able to take the extreme excitement and high speed...

Hello mermaidivy. I have not seen you for a while and i am glad your back! I haven't been to amusement parks for so many years already as it needs to have a lot of savings. I have not seen any job yet so there is no time for me to enjoy those things.
About the rides, unfortunately, i am scared of it. Even the kiddie roller coaster scares me. I hate it when the machine is going up as my breathe ceases. I don't know how to shout while riding those things so i always keep mum. I remembered the time i went to Enchanted Kingdom. We rode the Anchor's Away and i hid behind the shoulders of my auntie for the whole first time experience. My cousin was pissed cause i said i will be affording the ride-all-you-can ticket on his expense.
That's the last time i went to any amusement parks.

My daughter and I went to hershey park in June with our girl scout troop. We had tons of fun. We camped overnight at a nearby campground and went to hershey park. It was a beautiful day so all the girls really enjoyed the water rides. We wanted to go to six flags this year, but haven't had the time. perhaps we can go for halloween. It's sounds like a scary fun time.

Last time I went to SEA WORLD in Dunia Fantasi, a large amusement park up here in my hometown, Jakarta. I really enjoyed being there, seeing many kinds of sea animals. That was the firstime I saw sharks, piranha, pari fish, etc in my life. It was great to get into long glass / transparent tunnel, feeling as if walking under the sea and see the wild life.
In this complex too, there is another amusement park where you play or rides on roller coaster, carrousel, and any kind of play that boost your adrenaline. But last time I visit it was 3 years ago. I can't stand the long quequeing for each game.

This summer at I went to three of them. Dutch wonderland, hersey park, and the water park Camel Beach in Pocono Mountain. Mainly is to entertain my children this summer. It is expensive, but if my kids happy, I'm happy too ! And I let them took multi ride on everything that they enjoy.

Yes, it is pretty expensive to enter those parks, maybe you could try the year pass? If you go often, it is worth it.

I actually haven't been to an amusement park since 2003. It's been a long time, especially for someone like me that really likes the exciting rides. However, the last time that I went was a bad experience. I did go with some of the greatest people in the world, my baby sister, one of my best friends and my fiance (now he's my husband). However, two days after going, I developed severe sciatic pain which the doctors thought was a combination of the rides that I'd been on as well as having been in a car accident about a month before the trip.
For me, I really love roller coasters. I really like the thrill rides. I really like anything that attempts to take me to the limit. I'm hoping that we will be able to go next year because my daughter will probably be tall enough to go on some of the high thrill rides.
