What is baby blue? Is it a kind of psychological illness?

Baby blues are when the mothers hormones haven't gotten back in balance yet. Some times it last for only a few days and for some women it can last for up to a year or two.

Blue blue is the time in the days after birth when the hormones are getting back to normal. The lady might feel tearful and miserable around ten days when her full milk supply comes in. Post natal depression can make a lady really sad. It can come on at any time in the first year after having a baby. Your friend might be upset at not getting on well with her husband. She probably had got post natal depression or she might not have yet bonded with her baby. Some ladies suffer gender disappointment like they wanted a boy and got a girl. If I'm not mistaken, baby blues is when the mother is a bit sad from having the stress of the baby around. It's not an illness, it's just a state of mind, and it's a phase that a lot of new mothers go through. She will get over it soon and she will come back to her husband and to her baby. Just support her now and I'm sure everything will turn out alright.

I don't know about it. I am wondering about this thing too so I did some research about it but I don't really get complete understanding about it because I just do online researching. It said that baby blue can be vary depends on a mother's mental condition. Some will feel very sad, some will feel very angry.. But I never heard of people who got baby blue neglects their children.
