my mom thinks i might have fibermyalgia

i was in a car accident a couple years ago and i've been having a lot of pain ever since i told my mom about where i was having the pain and she figures i may have fibermyalgia. i know that it is caused by a traumatic experience like a car accident but i'm affraid to ask my doc about it any suggestions

My fibro probably also started from a car accident - but the food allergies didn't help any either. You can talk to your M.D., but it'll take a Rheumatologist to do it properly http://arthritis.about.com/od/arthqa/f/fmsdiagnosis.htm

thanks elic. i went to that site and i did the quiz and 13 out of the 14 of the questions i answered are consistent with fibro, i just have a hard time talking to doctors about pain that just seemed to have all of a sudden appeared after a year and a half. but i guess i will have to huh

its better to get treated for the whole thing, rather than spot treated for years like I did.

If pain is your only symptom, then you probably don't have fibromyalgia. And if you haave pain from an accident, then you've had an injury or injuries that should have been attended to a long time ago. Fibro can be a result of long-term stress, but doesn't necessily come from one incident. See your doctor.
