What will you do if one gilrfriend suitor is going after another simultaneously?

I talk to one of my girlfriends yesterday over the phone. We are just chatting about our activities and the things we observe around us. Just before we finish she was able to mention and ask me at the same time for advice. She said that this certain guy whom she knows is courting one of our girlfriends is also calling on her and writing her love notes and telling him he is not quite sure about what she feels about the other friend that we have but if very much interested with her. It is very much confusing to her and is making her mad at him. She was asking me what to do? I said I'm not sure what to tell her because from the story of the other girl I thought the boy is really passionately in-love with her. I love my girlfriends, and I hate it that people are not being true to them. How can a man do and say things differently? If you are in my situation what will you do?
