Status updates

Hey Jugs... I too have noticed the same... MANY users of FB do it, you true that you might not be interested, but there might be many out there who might be, isnt it? And what I feel is, usually people do this to come up in the news, status update on FB. Lets say, If I have just updated my status, then, if my friends log on to FB, ill be seen 1st in the queue. If I havent updated my status for 4 days, ill be down in my friends list. Hence, to keep up, people keep updatign their status every hr too :)

Facebook gives everyone the freedom to say whatever they want - even if it is as boring as lint. Some people think they're being funny, others probably have nothing better to say at the moment. If my friends write something mundane as that, it gives me the opportunity to try to think of something clever to comment about that - so I don't mind. I'm sure I've posted updates that I thought were pretty cool - but they might have been boring to others.

I am guilty of that. Not on Facebook though but I do it on MSN if I am expecting someone to come online because we arranged to meet and I have been called away from my computer. I might appear 'stupid and boring' to the masses but I am pleased that my sister or my friend is aware of the reason that I am not where I said I would be at a given time

I've never liked Face Book, and refuse to take part in it. It's the best way in getting a virus or Trojan. Not only that, I don't particularly believe that others NEED to know that much about me, or my personal affairs. cdrxo

Or people who are CONSTANTLY updating their status. 12:00 pm - going out to lunch with friends 12:24 pm - just got my food and cant wait to eat 12:30 pm - mmm mcdonalds That's very, very annoying. And people usually don't see them all anyway, they just see the last status update, lol.

As far as making status report on those sites, I haven't made any kind of those comments. I have however on a messaging site I will let someone know that I will be back in case they are trying to reach me. Maybe the ones on the site that you mentioned are watching the commerial about twitter and are getting confused where they are at.... Have a nice day..

some status are interesting (that's what i call "status art") but most of people can just think of boring ones, like those some of you have mentioned. It's a good way to find out about people's originality!
