India is a land of unity in diversity and there are so many varieties of wedding custom followed. How is it in your country and what type of wedding do you follow?

We don't have that many cultures in my country. its based mainly on religion, christian, buddhist, hindu and muslim. The majority are buddhist weddings which has long traditions with a beautiful "poruwa" ceremony. Poruwa meaning an archway made out of leaves, barks, flowers or any material made intricately and artistically for the couple to stand beneath while there's a master of ceremonies who conducts the whole thing with lots of buddhist stancas etc. This is an extremely traditional ceremony and have to be done according to "nekath" or astrological timinings with the couples horoscopes matched and many other little things that makes it a unique wedding ceremony. Have a good day dolmitta.

My parents followed the arrange marriage system. Though they were open to love marriage, i couldn't find myself a good partner so they picked one for me. But when it is my turn i would definetly give my daughter her chance to think and select a life partner for her sel. Or may be the trend would have changed by then!!
