Do you think it's easy to keep young turtles..?

Nowadays,more and more people keep pets in their house and it's becoming a trend.In some way,it notify the close relationship between animals and human being. Most people keep pets like dog,cat,even snake,have you ever kept turtles?The other day,I bought two young turtles and a jar of turtle food from the market.When I came home,I poured some fresh water into a small aquarium and put the 2 littles in it.At first,they active frequently.Then 2days left,I found the food(actually it's just the vitamin)I put still there,without any decrease,and gradually they seemed not likely to be active.Another 2 days later,I discover one turtle died....and after one day did the another one...I don't know if there are some skills so what do you think,do you have any ideas?
