I have a 13 year old special needs child that loves shows about science. On PBS she watches Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train, which is new, and will also watch Nova and Nova Science Now. She is also interested in the weather channel. She is an odd child with her tastes, but at least it is educational.

Our children are from God, we must take care of them, even with our lives. Your child is special, i think you are proud of her or him in any way. I would like to hear more. What time does she or he usually watch TV? TV or DVD, she or he loved the most?

I didn't mean to say that my child is odd. Her choice of television programming is so different from other child her age. She is definitely my gift from God. Without my faith in him I would not have been able to handle all that we have been through in her life. She had 10 stokes by the age of 15 months and lost her abilities for walking , talking, eating and doing things independently. She is a joy to be around. As for the times she watches tv, I let her stay up until 9pm so that she can watch Nova when it comes on. She has time on the weekends to catch up on the other shows. She also loves her game shows, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The Price is Right. We love to hang together and just have fun.

My 2 years old girl used to be a big fans of Mickey Mouse. She would every time dance and sing when the theme song is being played. But now she likes Barney the most. I have bought many Barney VCD for her and now she could memorize the opening theme song pretty well.

Agreed with you. Children's acts and expression while watching tv is absolutely adorable. Like my girl, she will open her jaw is relaxed and hangs open slightly. Sometimes her tongue will rest on the front teeth. Her concentration while watching her favourite tv programme is definitely greater than anything.
You were a big fan of Disney cartoon character and even bought the magazine. As far as I can remember, I do not adore any cartoon show, therefore my favourite past time was playing with cooking sets.
Reading never been my hobby, so I never bought any books when I was a kid. But I do encourage my girl to read and luckily she loves doing it too.
Barney is a large purple dinosaur in stuffed animal likeness, who comes to life through a child's imagination. The show teaches children educational things by using songs and dance.

My youngest child is almost three years old, as I type this, he is sitting in the living room watching his favorite television show. His favortie is Yo Gabba Gabba. The reason that I think he really likes this show is because it is musical and it also has very short segments so it doesn't test his attention span at all. I also believe that he has learned a lot from watching the show. He always gets excited when Yo Gabba Gabba is coming on.
My oldest child is almost seven years old. Her favorite television shows are more the ones that I would classify as Tween shows. She really like Hannah Montana. She also likes iCarly. These are more the soap opera kind of shows that really do draw you in to a large extent. She is advanced for her age which I believe is part of the reason that she is so interested in these shows at the younger age.

This is good to enhance my insight. What is Yo Gabba Gabba? From the sound, is it from Japan?
I liked to hear the children watch the show which is not particularly not for them. It means they are developing. So, thanks for your participation. Take care for your children, and you.

My youngest 7 year old daughter just loves Spongebob Squarepants and she'll watch it on tv even if they were reruns until she can repeat everything that Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward or Mr Krabbs say on the show.
My 13 year old daughter loves to watch sitcoms like Friends, How I Met Your Mother and all that. She is now hooked on House but she admits that half the time she doesn't understand what the characters are talking about because House can be quite technical with medical jargons. So I have to explain some of the things to her.

I wonder what if my child is seven years old too. She will like Sponge Bob too. Good luck to your seven years old daughter, UmiNoor.
You thirteen years old daughter is very clever, i'd bet you realized that. Watching an adult movie, huh? I meant, 'adult' which needs a deep understanding. She's spinning her brain while wacthing it.

when my children were younger, their favorite tv shows are cartoons. they seem to be "statues" watching the show, not even bothering what is happening around them.

Glad to know that. My child is also a girl. My child likes Dora The Explorer, to repeat word by word. Did she have certain time to watch TV shows? Maybe in the afternoon?

I can't think of any tv shows my 4 year old daughter likes to watch these days . . . she seems to be into videos more than watching normal tv lately!! She loves watching Blues Clues and Little Bear (both were tv shows, I don't know if they're still tv shows). She loves Disney movies - like Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmations, Dumbo (the classic stuff, not so much the princess ones) or the Sing Along videos.

Disney? I loved it. Not just my child. She liked to see a rat can talk, Mickey Mouse, and a fussy duck Donald. Used to i watched Blues Clues, before i married, and it was funny. There are some adults likes the cartoon also, because it was relaxing. Like my sister, she's a fan of Sponge Bob Square Pants, even used the clothes to go jogging.
My child likes cartoon channel. She's younger than yours, one year old, almost two.

My daughter's favorite tv show is hannah montana. She has enjoyed watching it for quite some time. She would like to be a singer someday just like Miley Cyrus. I think that is why she likes the show so much.

I like Hannah Montana. She's agile and fleet. And a great dancer too. I saw her dance and sing. So i think your daughter is in her teen age?
My daughter is still a year over. But if she's in your daughter's age, i'll recommend Miley's movies to her, as you too.
Thanks for your comment.

Too bad not all those movies are in my country. I am in Indonesia. The same with you, my child likes Pocoyo and 'Five in the air, let's do it together, Hi-5!' She can sang it, while holding my hand up. The most funny is she used her hand move as said 'hi-5!'
I think my child's age is almost the same with your child's age. Still learning to say alphabets, colors.
Thanks for your comment. I had seen barney, and i loved it. 'I loved it?' Not 'my child loved it'?
