Are you having a habit of taking breakfast?

One of my teachers in Junior school advised that people will become dull if they do not have breakfast, when I think of these words, I can not figure out whether it is scientific or just scare us to have the good habit. A few years passed, I still kept the habit of taking breakfast when I get into my job as I dont' want my brain to be dull. However, once the holiday comes, I love my bed more than the breakfast, it is noon time when I got up at Saturday or Sunday. How about you? Are you having a habit of having breakfast in your daily life? Do you think it it an important meal in your nourishment? Look forward to your reply.

The teacher did not scare you, in reality, it is really not good for your body not to eat your breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is your first meal of the day. It gives you the energy you need so you can go through in the morning. Imagine if you don't have anything in your stomach in the morning. It's like your somach will send a message to your brain that "stomach" is hungry. And you don't stop thinking about eating so that your hunger is satisfied. You can't perform well if you are hungry. In effect, your body responds to your brain as well. It is much better not to eat your lunch and dinner than not eating your breakfast. (^_^)

I don't remember exactly who told me this. But I just remembered my lessons in anatomy. My teacher then, who was a physician, has a vivid way of explaining to us how the body works. And I suddenly remember a topic on this. Our body does wonders we can't even imagine. Our body is a work of miracle. Everthing are works synergically. So now don't you ever skip breakfast. Take care of yourself always. =)

Well, I have also heard about such things. I have read it somewhere but cannot remember where. I really do not know if it is true. Maybe yes it does makes us dull or perhaps it would depend on the individual. I myself do not take in any breakfast, not because I do not get up early. In fact I get up at around 6am. But I do not have the appetite to take any solid food for breakfast. I only take coffee in the morning. I think it is just a matter of adjusting.

I get up early in the morning and have my breakfast on time.

Hi Grace, Yes, When we are young, we miss a long way to find the truth, sometimes we did not buy the words that our senior instructs us, sometimes will only buy the ways that we walk through, it will be great that we can get the experience from the peer or the person that we are not familar. thanks for your sharing.

Hi! I do agree with what your teacher advised you. I do eat breakfast daily. I don't know if it's a psychological thing for me, but if I do miss breakfast, I do a lot of "compensatory" eating the whole day. This is not desirable for me since I inherited a trait from my father's side that the women gain weight VERY easily. Because of this, I have to watch what I eat. I remember one of my clinical instructors told us that it is very important to eat breakfast. In fact, the heaviest meal should be breakfast. This is the time when your insulin (a hormone that regulates blood glucose levels) is at its peak. I don't know if you've encountered that saying "Eat like a king in the morning, a rich man at noon, and a pauper in the evening". That's why it's called breakfast - you are breaking the fasting you've done as you slept throughout the night. So don't be surprised that breakfast indeed is an invigorating meal, and should be happily looked forward to :D

Hi Aixshaoline, I did not hear the saying, " Eat like a king in the morning, a rich man at noon and a pauper in the evening", but it is really a strong evidence to prove the importance of the breakfast, I love the lines, you are breaking the fasting you've done as you slept thought the night, felt so invigorating when I heard the line and surely kids will buy it if we talked to them like that. Thanks for your point indeed.

Well, due to being Insulin Diabetic one of the most important things I do is to take some Insulin and especially in the morning, so if it is a work day Monday thru Friday you will find me eating Breakfast regularly and usually something healthy like Yogurt or Eggs for the most part as well. Personally I feel that eating Breakfast does help you to be a stronger person thru out the day as well.

hello sasalove, for me a day without breakfast is not complete. i always make a point to have my breakfast before doing any thing or going to work for that matter. they say, that breakfast is the most important meal rather than lunch and dinner. i think so, for i can not think will when my stomach is empty. have no strength either. even during holidays and weekends, sure i can sleep longer but not that long. i'm already awake at eight in the morning so with the rest of the family.

Hi Robert, I agree, a good breakfast, a good beginning of the whole day. In western contry, it seems that they pay much attention on the dinner, which means they will take dinner as the most priority diet in the daily life...

I am not in the habit of eating breakfast. However, it is a very important meal to have. Eating breakfast jump starts your metabolisim, which helps you burn calories, and can ultimatley help you lose weight if needed.

I eat breakfast regularly because I know it gives me energy for the whole day. I eat more carbohydrates at breakfast than dinner. Aside from working, I also have to take care of my son so I really need energy especially in the morning so I need to take a breakfast everyday.

For me it's not complete meal if your not taking breakfast for that day. And I follow my grandmother advice it can cause a sick called gastric pain. And I notice to other people who do that habit it's true, when time come in your older years there's many illness you in counter like high blood, arthritis so for me it's better to take a complete meal.

Hi Ebuscat, I believe so, many chronic disease are caused by the illy habit, just like the high blood, supposed just take too much sugar. We should mind our meal or nourishment exactly in our daily to avoid any innutrition.

hi there! even when i sleep late, i make it a point to wake up early and join my family for breakfast. coz that's the only time that we're complete. it became a habit whereever i go. be it light or heavy, i need to get breakfast. i think it depends on the activity u're dealing with for the whole day. some skips meal for lunch, other had brunch, or doesnt have breakfast at all. :)

That's because your brain is deprived of nutrition since your last meal the night before. I try to eat a light breakfast around 9-9:30am, because I would have a headache if I don't eat.

i don't use to have break fast till the last year feeling the i have to be slim in maintenance i came to know that it spoils the health.breakfast by the name it self suggests to break the fasting that have been done for a long period of time.even scientists have approved that have a break fast is very good for mind and to have proper health.a student who takes a high calories food can perform in day very well then the one who had less calories.the ability of the mind will be more and one will be sharp and its not good to have oily food early in the morning

it is some terrible that no breakfast makes one dull. most of the time i don't have breakfast for several years. i guess that may be harmful to our stomach, but now i'd prefer to believe it also can make one dull, and i will try to take breakfast regularly.
