I used to turn off my cell phone when I went to bed. Recently, as my kid is living with my parents in another city, I always keep my phone on in case they need to reach me.
How about you? Do you turn off your cell phone at night to avoid disturbing?

It’s a must karen. The main purpose I turn off the cell phone before going to bed is to keep someone away from disturbing my sound sleep. You know sometime certain friends or people would make a call just for those meaningless trifling things. It is really irritating to wake me up in the middle of the night. Very often I couldn't fall asleep again after the awful disturbance. If my relatives or good friends need urgent help they will call me on my land phone.
Another main reason to switch off the cell phone before bedtime is to take care of the battery of my cell phone. I wish the lifespan of the battery of my cell phone could prolong. I believe it will do, as it has a proper rest in the night as well My nokia phone battery always has long lifespan!
I believe there would be less radiative effect as well if switching off all the cell phone as well as the wireless router at home. I'm told that we would be healthy if we could avoid from the harmful radiation. But it's not easy to escape from this, for there are radiative effect all around in this advance modern world
Have a nice day and happy posting

Hi Ikbooi, I do not have land phone, so I have no choice but to turn it on. On the other hand, I sleep quite late at night, I never received disturbing phone call so far :) Have a nice day and happy mylotting to you too.

Hi Karen, I understand that your cell phone is quite important to you, for you don’t have any cable phone at home. Means that your cell phone is the only communication device for you no matter wherever you are. No wonder you have to switch it on all the time. Yeah, this could enable you loved ones as well as your friends could keep contact with you all the while.
Happy posting

lkbois'points absolutely pursuade me to turn of the cell phone when I am getting into sleep...But sometimes I will still turn on my cellphone just for somebody you cares as there is no local phone in my dorm. Saying if my friends is in sick, I can not warrant when will be the critical time that she needs a hand, mabbe in the midnight, I do not hesitate to accompany her if she reaches me for help.

I do turn off my cell phone when I go to bed.The main reason is the great radiation you'll suffer.I don't know if you have see the a video about the great power of phones. The experiment is like this.
Put four phones on the table and some corn in the centre. Then send messages to the 4 phones using other phones.Within several seconds you could see a surprising moment, the corn "jumps" and turns into popcorn.
That's the great power of radiation. So I recommend you turn off your cell phone. On the other hand, you can tell the home number to your family.

Hi Jackie, I know the radiation is harmful, but never expect it has such great power! I actually put it about 1 -2 miles from my bed, I will try to put it more far away from tonight.

LOL,funn story uh,,, it may be a little exaggerating for the corn becoming the popcorn, but I buy it is true that the radiation power that cellphone brings. I always turn off my cellphone when I get into bed, and I don't want to turn into a red pig after waking up..LOL, just joking...

I do turn mine off at night as I don' need to have it on while I am sleeping. I never get calls in the middle of the night anyway, so I jut turn it off. I probably should leave it on though, as I don't have a landline, so my cell is teh only ways of communicating with my kids. I prefer not to have it on, so I don't get calls while I am trying to get a good night's sleep. If I do forget to shut it off before I go to bed, then I just take it in my bedroom and put it on the nightstand next to my bed, versus putting it under my pillow, as I think that can be dangerous. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Hi Rosekiss, yes, it's good not to put your cell phone too closed you, as the radiation from it is not good for our heath. I use to put it on the nightstand as well. Thanks and happy mylotting.

I don't turn it off because it's my alarm clock, but i also keep it on just in case someone needs to tell me something important, that can't wait . It'll always be on silent though (the alarm sounds anyway .), i figure if a person needs to tell me something SO important they'll call more than once & i'll feel the phone vibrating .

no, my cellphone is always on.
i don't want to miss a call or text. i consider each call or text message as important.
i am not expecting an emergency, but i am wary that i can easily respond to any of it when i can easily be contacted.

I never saw the need to turn off my phone when going to bed. i use it as an alarm clock so it has to be always by my side. it also does not bother me a lot when I wake up in the middle of the night because of some texts (even random/forwarded ones). i ave always considered the celphone as a necessity so i never turn it off. we'll never know when emergencies come our way.
