Has anyone had any problems regarding ants living or temporarily staying inside your laptop? I just recently found a few ants suddenly appear on my laptop. I'm not really sure where they are based inside the laptop. This happened when my mother left some food on the table close to my laptop. Sure enough ants easily find food anywhere and I think they have temporarily made my laptop a base or colony for the moment. Do any of you guys know how to get rid of these ants?

Hi maxilimian! Yup it's been some time since we ran into each other here in mylot. How have you been. Well, I have managed to rid of the ants from my laptop. At least before they turned it into a colony. I used an air blower to blow out whatever it was stuck between my keyboards. Food and ants all blown out. I'm observing it for now. If more ants turn up, its more likely they are in some other areas. If not, I guess my laptop is ant free for the time being. Cheers!

Glad to know the air blower worked for you. We have "sugar ants" in Florida and I've been very careful not to have any food around the laptop for fear of exactly what you were describing. Good to know that there is a "home solution" just in case it does happen. Have you thought about how you might prevent the ants from recurring in the future? I've heard there are solutions you can buy to attract/trap ants (you put a drop on the counter or table and they cling to it instead of your belongings).

It'd be good to have the laptop opened and cleaned up. If you do this yourself or take it to the shop, your call, but it's definetely safer to take some preventive measure about it rather than to hope that nothing gets damaged.
I guess that ants aren't cockroaches, but better safe than sorry.
