Ellen DeGeneres is replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol!!

I like the Paula Abdul because she is so nice and energetic. i dont know what is the reason why she quit American Idol. I know Ellen Is not a singer she is a host, but i also like her because of her humor and i know that she admires singers.

Ellen is a good choice. She will definitely be a fresh breather for A.I for sure. True that she does not have singing nor dancing experience, but she is an entertainer and a great one at that, and I see nothing wrong with her being in A.I. Just like I don't see anything wrong should Posh be a guest judge too. I suspect A.I ratings will definitely rise with Ellen in it.

I also think Ellen will bring new life to the show. In fact, I think the show was beginning to slide, but Ellen could bring it back up with her sense of humour. A lot of people have criticized the choice because Ellen is not in the music business. These people do not know Ellen. She loves music. Yes, she loves to dance, but she loves music in general. She has lots of musical guests on her show, many of whom are newcomers to the business, people no one has heard of before. Ellen hadn't "discovered" them, so to speak, but she brought them out to the TV world first and helped boost their careers. She has an ear for good music and I think she will be of some benefit. The only thing I think is wrong is that Ellen doesn't realized what a good singer SHE is. Last season Ellen sang with Josh Groban and it was so fantastic I downloaded it from the website onto my own computer. I love watching it over and over again. She really can sing. And now, after this week's premier with the SYTYCD dancers, we know she can dance too. Ellen is multi-talented. I haven't been watching too much of AI lately but you can bet I will be tuning in now that Ellen is on the panel.

I LOVE it! It's better than having another professional point of view joining the show. Ellen's gonna bring it back to the top ratings and such that it deserves to have. She's going to be the "peoples voice" because she's got no background professional history about music.. She's just there as a fan/viewer. I think it's going to be awesome, I'm so excited for this season now!

i do not like her at all never have .but there are alot who do i never could understand why, she is not funny to me

Hello lelin1123 I just found out yesterday, I am so happy Ellen is the best choice in my opinion, I saw her talking about it on a youtube video she said she will be our voice, they need that we can hear we know what sounds good, Ellen will be there to speak for us, Go Ellen love her, I always watch her videos on youtube, Ellen is one of the best entertainers around I am really proud of her, Ellen is Ellen I love this about her, I feel like I actually know her because she is who she is, that makes you love her even more, she is so doggone lovable. I have not watched idol for a few years now more so because I find it boring now I will watch just to support Ellen. Thank you

I'm not sure I am comfortable with the idea of having Ellen Degeneres as AI judge. Yes, she's funny but what does she know about music? I mean AI is a singing competition and those aspiring singers deserve to be judged by people who have made names in the music industry.

Yes, yes...Ellen is great! She is a kind soul and has a lovely personality. In addition to all of that, she is funny too. My family can be really judgmental when it comes to people that are different. And if they like Ellen, I think that probably everyone does. She'll do great and I think she will probably bring a whole new audience along with her to the program. Have a great day here on myLot!

Wow thats interesting.... I love ellen...and though i love paula i never did think she did much for that show....but it seems to me ellen is an odd choice for that show too isnt she?? I mean she isnt involved in the music industry AT ALL that i know of...what would be her credentials for judging that show?? Anyway I still love her so im sure she will do fine... but i sure wish they would get rid of that cara diaguardi bisnatch...I really cant stand her!!!

Yes put Ellen in, I'd watch that too. I think Ellen's great and think that Paula would do better if she was up on stage. I don't think she's happy judging the idols. I like Ellen, I think she's funny and she cares about some of the same things I care about. She also has more energy and is very expressive.

I find Ellen really funny and love watching her daytime talk show. But I still don't know if she does know many aspects of the whole music industry. I do like her whole personality. I have seen her as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance and think she did a really good job. I wish her the best of luck with her new gig.

I think alot of her reason for leaving, had to do with the stalker she had. I remember seeing a comment that said she had to stay, even though she didn't want to because she was under contract. I do think that Ellen will give Simon a run for his money.

I had not heard this, thanks for the info. That should make for a very interesting show. I like to watch ellen to but i get tired of her so called dancing. Don't guess she'll do that on this show, lol. I liked paula to at first but had gotten a little tired of her. This should be an interesting change.

I think she will add the excitement in the show, i just don't think she's that capable in judging especially in the technical parts.
