I think yoga is a natural healing therapy. But i practise only the simple steps and quit the difficult ones. I prefer to do breathing techniques and meditation. What about you?

I would very well like to practice yoga but I do not. I used to do some of the simple ones long back but now a days I am not doing it due to my back ache problem.

I've tried Yoga, I follow video tapes. It so hard, I'm not very bendy anymore and now I have acid reflux bending over is awful. I'd like to try it again, if only my husband wouldn't watch, he finds it amusing, but I can't find an easy, easy video. I tried tai chi also, I can't follow, he goes left, I go right. I'm also very uncoordinated.lol As for the meditation part, I try to do that as often as I can, I do Reiki and, while I'm doing distant Reiki I just let myself go blank. I don't really understand meditation, are we supposed to ponder on something, wait for something or go blank? Haven't figured that out yet.

Hi velentina,
I knew the benefits of yoga. But still I couldnt practise well as i am in some other tensions of my daily life. I earlier done for some months. I had a book with me and i followed some exercises as mentioned. I love doing hard ones.
But i do much breathing excercises comparing hard ones.
Have a nice time!

hey there. I think it is great that you you some elements of yoga to help in your every day life. Whay are your motivations for doing yoga? Do you find it helps? I used to love Hatha Yoga and found it incredibly useful.
I started doing yoga mainly to relieve stress when I was doing my PhD. It really helped and I came away feeling very relaxed. For me the meditation aspect was the most important. I was very fit physically already so wasnt doing it for that reason. I stopped when I was diagnosed with MS as was unable to do the physical side of it.
I started it up again when I had a period of calm and decent health with the MS to help gain my strength again and to help clear my mind of the stress and depression I had developed. Unfortunately I had to stop again when I relapsed.
I am having physio at the moment and once I am a little stronger hope to go back to it. The meditation and breathing exercises are things we can do at home but I find it more difficult with the distractions in the home.
Keep enjoying the benefits of yoga!

Last year I practised yoga nearly evey night before I went to bed,and it indeed helped me sleep better. But now I'm not practising as much times as before, only once or twice a week. But I'm going to practise more since it's really a good sport which makes you calm and relaxed.

I do meditation since three years and I have been practicing Yoga for some two months, I find it very cool and I can really relax while I do it every morning, I have a sister who does it for more than one year now and when she talks about Yoga it is as if she is mesmerize by it. It is indeed wonderful.
