I was just thinking about this a minute ago. As a Manchester United fan, I have my biases for Ronaldo. However, I watch quite abit of Barca and I can appreciate Messi's qualities. So I asked myself to choose as who I will build a team around. I would probably choose Ronaldo because I think he's a more all round player and can play many multiple role for the team, as a winger, attacking midfielder or striker. Messi tends to be a very one dimensional player, the best one dimensional player there is, but a team would have to adapt to the way he players, where as Ronaldo may be able to allow a team to play different ways. Therefore, Ronaldo gets my vote, for perceived versatility.

Lionel messi and christiano ronaldo are the most great football player in the world now, both of them young and talented, but if we look their latest appearance and their club achievements, i think all people agree that lionel messi is better than ronaldo, so messi will get the title as the best football player this year

From what Im seeing so far Id say hands down Cristiano Ronaldo is better in terms of playing and character.
These men are both very good players but just by seeing a bit more on what they do, I preffer Ronaldo's type of playing more than Messi's. Its all part of the football charm.

I wouldn't know much about their actually soccer talent, but, one thing that I do know is that if one of them could be better, it'd be Ronaldo in terms of character.
I mean, I'll grant to him that he has talent and all that, but I think that in the end he forgot where he came from until what he is today. Thankfully he did not forget his family, but, if what he's showing up front to the rest of the world otherwise is his real self, then he could truly take a few lessons in modesty.

for football skill, the both are great. they have speed, accuracy, dribbling etc
but if we are talking about mentality, Messi is better
