Well, it might sound elementary but of course it is still very important for us to teach our student these values. Having to make the students stand up and greet their teacher as well as their classmates is a good strategy to teach them the value of respecting. Another thing is that, do not take it against your head if he is making some critics on how you teach or on how you manage your class, instead you should be thankful because it gives you the opportunity to improve yourself as well as your performance.

there are a lot of methods to teach them the value of respecting. and I think if you hope your students to respect you, you should do something worthy being respected instead of making them to express their respect in this way. And I think I have the right to manage my class if I stand on the stage,as a head you can give me your suggestion, if I think yours sound reasonable, I will accept it and be thankful, if they just give some kind of ridicoulous advice in a rude way, I'm afraid I also have the right to refuse do that.Plus, I'm improving everyday in my own way.

Sure there are a lot of ways to teach them the values. Having the students do that is of course not the only way but I guess one way of instilling them. With regards to your head commenting on you, well I agree that if he has to make any suggestions it should be reasonable enough for you to accept it.

It does seem silly. But it is the way a teacher is differentiated from the students, it is a way of teaching children respect. Unfortunately today's kids don't have a lot of it.

thanks for your reply. After thinking about it carefully in this weekend, I guess maybe I am a little extreme. At that time I was enraged by my leader's attitude, you know he just interrupted me in unpolite way. Maybe it can teach students something, but I also think it's really very silly.

Probably you got used to doing this to your fellow students. I think if it's in the book i believe you have to follow it but i agree it's so elementary to simply do that stuff anymore, greeting you as if you were a real madam or something. don't worry, it happens... just move on.
