Can you leave the house without your phone?

Just a question to everyone in this technology driven world. I can't leave the house without my cellphone even if i want to sometimes. I worry about the people who are going to contact me all through out the day. I remember when i was younger, and there were no mobile phones around, i stick to plans, like when a friend would meet me at 8 pm at a specifc restaurant at some mall, now it's like, "okay let's just text each other where to meet later".

Me too! I go back home when I forget my phones to retrieve them especially when I am meeting someone. There are lots of things that could happen between leaving the house and getting to my destination and I want to make sure I can at least apologize in advance in case I got hold up in traffic or can't find the exact place I was supposed to go to. Happened to me many, many times too.

i feel like a piece of me is missing if i dont have it with me in the car. i literally have to have my phone with me at all times. if im in the other room and i get a call from mom and i dont pick up, she goes crazy. i call her right back after i get a message but by the time i know i have a missed call, she is at the house pounding on the door. crazy how she is, she has a cell phone and it is NEVER on. ha!

personal cell phone - personal cell phone for wireless use
That' like leaving home naked LOL. I even bought a charger because, even tho I had the phone, I forgot to charge it the night before, so I was afraid the battery would die. How sick is that? I have a car that is reliable. All of my family is well. What am I worried about? What could happen that could not wait until I got home? Even at home, I keep my cell phone close by. My cell phone is more critical to me than my home phone. Again, I ask you, how sick is that LOL?

Same here, my answer is No. It seems that our technology-driven era has conditioned our minds that we NEED gadgets like mobile phones to survive LOL. But, they really do serve their purposes well especially when there are sudden change of plans at the very last minute. I remember a time when my boyfriend (now husband) were supposed to meet somewhere back in 1991. It was raining hard, there were so many people at our meeting place and I couldn't find him even though I spent more than 30 minutes walking around. I was wet and tired and pissed off. So I went home. Two hours later, he showed up and asked me why I didn't come. The funny thing is, he was hanging out at a part of the campus that I wasn't able to look in. Sometimes, when we remember that day, we still couldn't help saying we wish mobile phones were already widely used then. And yeah, even if we try to stick to plans as much as possible, it's more convenient to have something to do while waiting for someone such as texting him/her "When are you going to get here?!" :p

Nope, my bosses will kill me if they can't reach me. I too can't imagine life without cellphones. It's just so darn convenient.

Hi alechi, cell phone is one of my most essential devices. I would feel easy only if my cell phone is with me before leaving my house. It’s easy and convenient for me to call my family members or friends if I need any urgent help. We couldn’t know advance what might happen the next moment. I consider that it’s always safe to have a cell phone with fully charged battery Let say, if come across any traffic congestion we could inform the opposite party in time if having the cell phone. We might feel like on the anxious seat if knowing someone is waiting us in somewhere anxiously or madly. Yeah, if we inform him or her earlier he then could attend the appointment later or rearrange everything again

Hi neo_matrix, Mr too agree with your point. More than that it's a piece of time pause. I always install some games in it and play whenever I get bored. Or else I'll call to my Fiancee and talk...! Can't be without it...! I'm really addicted to it...!

I have, I don't like to, and its a good thing I grabbed my phone tonight because the security company called because I accidentally set off the "panic" alarm on the alarm system

I cannot leave the house without my phone.Once i forgot my phone at home and i felt very frustrated.I always like to keep it with me because i don't when i might get work or friend calls. It has become a part of me in today's life.I also use for calculations that are huge and to listen to music on long boring journeys so it keeps me entertained all the time.

I feel naked when I leave by accident without a cellphone. I don't have my calendar with me, my alarms, my "watch" and I always seem to need my phone at this most inopportune time.

No, I always take my cell phone with me so if I need to call a friend or family member I can. The only ones that have my number is the ones I gave it too.

Yes, sometimes I would. If I just go to the shopping mall nearby, I prefer not to take along my cellphone, I would be soon go home then, but if I go out for kinda long time, I would take my cellphone in case there is someone have something emergancy. Good day!

No. I always leave the house with my cell phone in my pocket. You know, cell phone gives life to a boring situation sometimes. There are games features to play while you are waiting for someone. You can text or call wherever your friends are to say hello. Cell Phone is the greatest invention of man to connect you to others at once.

HI alechi91 No, I can't leave to anywhere without phone! I can leave my wallet, but not my phone,,hehe.. Because I can contact my friend, family or even police office with my phone, not with my wallet. I can be reached and reach many people, ask for help or set up new meeting, and sometimes do task or connect to the internet and get many information from it But yes, we can live without phone, but it will be a difficult and isolated life!

Hi alechi91, Leaving the cell phone and going outside, It's highly impossible for me to do that. Because it enables my friends and relatives to be in touch. It's like a companion to me. But sometimes I'll leave it purposefully. So that no one can disturb me hehehe...!

No, I cannot leave the house without my phone, but it isn't because I'm worried about who will be calling me during the day. They could always leave me a message. However, I don't wear a watch anymore, thus relying on my cell phone to know that I will arrive on time. Also, it is a nice comfort to have if my car ever should break down. I have an old '92 Taurus and while she's running good right now, I know that car is nearing the end of its life. Good starter question alechi! Happy MyLotting! :)

Hello alechi91 I have and its fine with me, I get really annoyed watching people with their phones sometime, maybe they need to rethink this, people don't talk to each other anymore all you see is their face buried in their phone, my daughter/my two sisters its disgusting, when I am on the train and we come out of the tunnel you can see everyone at the same reach for their phone, for the short ride to where ever they are going they can't do without the phone, I think texting for free made things worse, I have in the past, but never to this extent. Thank you
