Happens to me all the time. It's worse when you don't even remember walking into the room. Like when you're heading for the bathroom and end up in the kitchen. Kinda weird. My family says it's because I'm wired wrong or something.

I figure as long as I'm happy with myself, who cares what other people think?

Exactly ! That's the best approach I could find out myself too .. Not mean I refuse any output idea or something. But if one does not like me because I wash my hands after I eat .. who cares (no, I don't wash before, just after, I have the habbit to use hand to eat and become .. greasy ((-: )

OMG it happens to me on a daily basis. I will go to the kitchen, get in there and ask myself, what the hell am i doing in here? and walk away. I will be at the other end of the house and suddenly remember! And the driving thing too. I will be driving somewhere and forget where I am going and why I am going or I will go somewhere and realize I didnt intend to go there, I was going somewhere else across town! I am horrible at things like that!

Yup. Just like when you are looking for something. The easiest way to find it is to look for something else or go out and buy another and as soon as you don't need it anymore you find it!

So, you noticed too the cure (mean to quickly remember) is to simply go as far as possible from that spot .. of course, the more will take you to come back , the more urgent that job was ...

Far too often. A former boss of mine called it a matter of "volume vs capacity". Which I took to mean that as you get older, you have too many things flying at you and your brain is so full that there's no room to remember all that any more.

I disagree (:-P) As much as I get older, I notice I remember more and more .. 99% are things I had to do loooong time a go but, hey .. I remember them, ok ? Better later than never, isn't it ?

Oh yes! This is a complete mental block! It normally happens when I am so busy joggling a lot of things or a lot of things are running through my head. The reason will just drop off and will be forgotten leading me to think of why am I there. Funny, but it is a reality.

That is very funny. That happened to me today. It happen all the time. I think that is the early signs of alzimers. This is why it is important to keep your mind busy by playing games, reading, or just doing a puzzle. What works for me to remember is to go back out the room and take my time and that reminds me what or why I went in the room. Happy lotting hope you find what you are looking for.

Yes actually this happens to me quite often. It's because I have so many thoughts in my head sometimes and I tend to forget what I'm doing even as I'm in the process of doing so. it's nice to know that there are other people out there who go through the same things as I do. Have a nice day and happy mylotting!

This is - among others - something is actually commun to humans .. have you ever take a look at the watch and after that you still don't know what time it is, so you have to look again ?

Yes happens all the time, i think that it is a sign that im getting old. I just tell my self that since i can't remember it must not have been that important. Another thing is that i will get something else, and then go back and sit down and then remember again what i got up for in the first place and have to get back up again to go get it.

That "end" I come up too sometime: "If I forgot, mean was not so important". Well, I hope it won't happen when I'll need to use the toilette and once in the "room" to forget why and think was not important ...

Yes, this happens to me from time to time. I go in a room, then come back out wondering why I am there. I have to ask the people around what I was doing. Luckily I will remember it myself or someone will tell me. I will remember soon enough...

I got an idea .. Once you decide to go somewhere, first write on a piece of paper why you go there .. Well .. of course, the "I will forgot to take the paper with me" or "I forgot I writed on paper" issues may occure ...
