I'm spending my weekend on a hospital bed... just want to say Hello to you guys!

Well this week has sure been hell for me. Yesterday I was having dinner with my friend and all of a sudden I just passed out. I had a black out.. I was rushed to the hospital and turns out I have a swollen optic nerve which was causing so much pain on my left side of my whole body.
I'm on a hospital bed right now, I've just woken up about half an hour ago and the lovely nurse has been kind enough to offer her assistance so she is typing this as I dictate it to her.. Doc says I've been over stressed and its caused the muscles in my nervous system to expand causing a rush of blood to the brain and making it swell up... weird eh?
I'm as healthy as a horse and the last time I was in hospital was when I was born..
I'll be here until Monday as so am told as I've been immobilized so that I don't move and wait for the vessels to get back to normal. I can talk and what not just can't move but I just had to stop by here and say hello to you guys
I hope you're all going to have a great weekend. I won't be on much this weekend and probably next week as I've been ordered to rest.. So sorry to you guys if I'm not able to comment on this discussion.. I'm a sleepy bunny now so you guys take care and have a lovely weekend...

Perastika Jellymonty, or get well soon. Heres something I just learnt recently and it is TRUE apparently, if you get a sudden sharp pain behind your eye start coughing as hard as you can at once. It is supposed to clear a potential blood clot, hoping it's not applicable with you but as you mentioned the optic nerve thought I should pass on the advice. I've had two friends down this year with thrombosis though and my friend who has it in the eye had been under a lot of stress so just remember a good hearty cough if there's any pain around there.

Gosh! You were lucky!
One nerve in the eye can cause that much pain too? Goodness! 
Take the advice of the medical staff and rest as much as you can. We will be here when you get back just as we always are. I guess you are on sedatives which make you sleepy so just give into them and rest as much as you can.

Welcome back and good to see that you on the road to recovery!
I absolutely agree about hospital beds after a seven week stint five years ago

get well soon jellymonty, i hope that you will get better as soon as possible because it's hard to stay at the hospital. i hate being at the hospital though it's the place where you can get cured from illnesses but i don't want seeing sick people walking down the aisle with their crutches, dextrose or wheel chair, seeing weak people makes me weak too.. get well soon and don't forget to pray.

I hope you get well real soon. Our body is such a complex system huh. Stress can manifest in such different ways . The pain must have been really bad, for you to have passed out like that.
