One day, a successful entrepreneur decided to drive in the country so he could breathe some fresh air. He needed to get away from his stressful job. As he drove along the byway, he chanced upon a farmer folk sitting under a tree. He stopped to scold the farmer. He said that the farmer should not be lazy and must work hard to be successful. The farmer asked why? He said that success gives you your own home and your own car. The farmer asked again why? And he said that if you have your own home and your own car, you can travel next to where you want to be. The farmer asked why? Then he answered that if you travel, you can see many beautiful things, breathe fresh air and enjoy life and be happy. Then the farmer muttered "But I am breathing fresh air and enjoying life under the canopy of this tree. I see the white clouds against the blue skies and the play by play of birds in V formation. The cows and the sheep and the horses are about some of the most beautiful creatures I have seen. I am happy." The entrepreneur left down trodden.

Different folks different stories. Life is not about what we have but about how content with what we have while striving to get to the better side. Nice story line. I sure will try to be happy and content with my level in life while striving for the improvement I so eagerly deserve.

A good illustration. I have often considered the differences between what it takes to make a person happy in our affluent, possession-laden society, compared with the simple life seemingly enjoyed by people in extremely poor countries. One of my sons recently visited small towns in Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia. While the people had nothing (to his way of thinking) and struggled to exist, they were happy people, always smiling and willing to help. It seems that many in our society are never satisfied - as your successful entrepreneur. Maybe if he stopped for a while and counted his blessings, he MIGHT re-consider his attitude. Am I happy? Yes I am and I have many reasons to be happy - and those reasons are not tied to earthly possessions.

I do love watching clouds, but that isn't the reason I am called cloudwatcher. My Saviour promised to return for His own, at which time all believers will be caught up together with Him in the clouds. I wait for His return. Thanks for the best response.

Hi EliteUser. I am glad that you are happy. Many of my countrymen were devastated from the recent storm that passed by our country. All their life's work....their houses, cars, appliances... all submerged into deep mud flood in just six hours. One can't help but shed a tear. But a tv reporter who also lost her home said that the memories of what made her happy remains in her heart. Her home may be gone but life goes one. Tomorrow, after the crying today, she will smile again...

Thank you for sharing this wonderful short story about enjoying life. About your question, yes, I am happy. I am happy not because I have a PC and can access to the internet anytime I want but I am happy because I can learn so many things be it on the web (like this story) or from my friends and family (by interaction or by observation) and I can share so many things to others as well. I am also happy because whenever I have problems or worries, I know that they exist to let me grow and that these problems have solutions in which all I have to do is to think and act. How about you? are you happy?

Yup. I am happy. I have two daughters who constantly give me pride with their academic achievement and the simplicity of their lives. I hear classical piano music for free daily, a thousand and one debates while having dinner, and God and the Blessed Mother to keep us company. Life is indeed a blessing. I am happy for you, too. Keep on with what makes you grow as a person. Trials are up ahead but what is life without such.

Thank you for sharing this short story.I'd like to say that I like it very much. Everyday we try our best to find our happiness. But after we do a lot we find that we leave the happiness even farer.Accutally our happiness is always aroud us,but we give no attention to it.We lost our happiness in the dusty of success.
