How often do you take naps?

I remember being trained to take naps in kindergarden. That training however, didn't carryover when I was at home.
Now that I'm an adult, I have begun to listen to my body more and allow it to get the necessary rest that it needs in order to properly function. So whenever I do take naps, it is because I haven't gotten enough rest the night or nights before and my body is communicating to me that I need to chill out.
Do you take naps?

I take naps as often as I can. I try to take a nap at least once a day, but this is not always possible. I am retired and still I find myself to busy during chores around the house. I just need a short maybe only 10 minutes and I feel that I have slept for at least 6 hours. Taking a nap is good for me and maybe it will be for you too.

I can be at the point where I can no longer function normally, even then I can't take a nap. Must just be my own way of making sure I sleep at night. I work nights though & even though I do everything normally during the day & then stoll go to work I still can't sleep during the day. I have gone 48 hours without sleep & still functioned without a nap. It's strange. The only time I can take a nap is if I am really sick...but then if I take a nap I KNOW I am sick & get the doctor out. I can live on about 6 hours a day sleep. I get more energy at night now because my body thinks it is at work & I can't slow down till at least midnight or 1 am at least. I don't like it. I want to be normal.

Now and then. It's not extremely common although there was a season there where I almost had one daily.
It's typically no longer than one hour long or so though, because I know perfectly well that if I lay around for too long like that, more usually than not I wake up with a headache.

I've kept the habit of taking a nap at noon every day since I was in kindergarden. Now that I'm also an adult, but I'm used to taking naps which has become a necessity to me.However, sometimes especially on weekends if I take a nap for over 2 hours I'll find it hard to sleep at night. So it's better to confine the nap time within 1 hour or less.I believe proper naps will do good to our health.

I am a very good sleeper and I get bored easily so whenever I do not have anything to do or anyting in mind, i would surely be sleeping. I can even sleep in the middle of watching a very good TV show. Just provide me with a soft cushion and blanket and I would surely be sleeping in no time.

Often I do in spite of my best intention. That is one reason why I am falling behind on my online stuff. I remember the Kdg. naps. I spend one summer napping every day at 2:00

Oh yes, I definitely take naps! I love naps! I don't always sleep well nights anyway so I have to take naps because there are times I just can't keep my eyes open. But really, naps are great and I do love 'em!

I try to avoid taking naps as much as possible because whenever I take a nap after getting home from work it's usually quite hard for me to actually sleep that night so I can be well rested enough for work the next day. So, when I do nap it's because I'm simply exhausted and really can't stay awake anymore.
I've gotten into the habit of sleeping better at night now so naps during the day are usually pretty uncommon for me anymore but occasionally I do nap if I'm really, really tired and need the extra sleep.

Good for you hdjohnson. I don't have quality naps as much as I want to. Yeah, I am insomniac and I hate it. Even at night, I get difficult in getting to sleep. It takes me to 1hr or 2 hours or sometimes 3, and the worst, I don't get rest or sleep because my mind keeps on twirling and thinking. So what more if i tried to have a nap? I just sometimes do it just to rest my eyes not my mind.
Lucky are those who get easily asleep.

I very rarely will take a nap. Whenever I take a nap, it really messes with my sleep schedule at night. I then can't fall asleep at night and not getting enough sleep for the next day and generally don't feel my best.
When I was younger, in college, I used to be able to take a nap in the afternoon after my classes, and wake up for dinner and feel just fine. Somewhere, as I got older, that changed.
So now, no matter how tired I am, I usually just push along until I feel it's ok to go to sleep for the night. No naps for me.

I only nap if I've been deprived of sleep, and even then, I need to have no distractions around me.
I consider myself an energetic character, so the idea of taking a voluntary nap would be impossible for my over-active mind.

I take naps at noon every day right now. When I was a fresh,I turned to a professor one day,and he told me that taking a nap just for half an hour is enough for a person, but you have to fall asleep, not just sleep with your brainning working.with the nap,one have enough energy to do many activities.Even, the half hour is more valuable for 2 hours in the evening. After that,I tried and it worked well for me,and I keep a nap every day.

I have to take at least one nap a day due to my body's refusal to accept the fact that I have to wake up very early in the morning to get to work and school. I know I should be down by eleven but don't get to sleep until about one. That's sad becuase I have to be up by seven to be gone but a little after eight. So by the time I get home, I am usually so sleepy that I am stupid so I have to take about two hours to recharge to get things done...

No, I don't take naps. But I would love to be able to take a nap. I'm not sure why, but when I try to take a nap during the day, sleeps fails to claim me. I can be tired, sleepy, fatigued, and yet no nap. When I was a teenager I could nap as much as I wanted. Although back then I was so depressed, sleep was my escape from reality. I guess depression can do that to a person. But now that I'm older the nap gene has skipped town.

But now I dont take naps to often maybe a few times a week but I try to take them before 3 pm otherwise it would screw up my sleeping schedule and I wouldnt be able to fall asleep that night.

I never took naps when I was young. Probably once in a while, if I had gone to a party ythe night before. But now I´m older, I take naps often. My sleeping time has changed a lot living alone so I go to bed very late at night. So, many days, after lunch, I´m here at the computer and start to doze. It´s the time to go to my room and take a nap with the TV on for company.. A couple of times it´s been a looong nap, specially in the middle of the winter. You don´t want to leave your warm nest.
Take care.
