Have you heard of Muchausen by Proxy Syndrome? It is the worse child abuse there is. Its not a very common condition. Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome is a fabrication of illnesses, produced by the primary caretaker. Usually its the-----Mother-----who delibertely gets her child sick in order to get attention. Many kids have died by the hands of their own mother because of this syndrome. I was seeing a documentation of this syndrome and it was very hard to watch. They showed explicit video footage of how mothers hurt there own child. Mothers suffocatng them with their hands or plastic paper. Showing how even in a hospital setting they continue abusing their kid. Being a mother I can not understand why would a mother hurt their child. I thought it was very sad and very interesting at the same time. Interesting because I wonder how many kids go through this and no one knows. Probably not even they know what is happening to them. Since I worked in a Doctors office, I did see a couple of mothers that their child was always hurting themselves. It was an Orthopedic Office so we were always careful and suspicious every time the same kid would come in with a fracture. Being a parent how does this make you feel? I'm very interested in reading everyones commons or questions in regards to this.
