Right now, the internet connection that I am using here in the Philippines, at an internet cafe in the hotel has a connection speed of 100.0 Mbps. I think in the States, my wireless connection is about 800 Mbps. So this is a little slower, but not too bad. In which order do they go? kbps mbps gbps ?

I think you referring to your Wifi/WLAN connection or local area network (LAN) this mean your internal network.
solatjumat is referring to the internet connection you subscribe from your ISP.
Usually ISP package is something like this;
Plan A. 256kbps-download/128kbps-upload
Plan B. 512kbps-download/256kbps-upload
Plan C. 1.0Mbps-download/512kbps-upload
My Internet Connection is 384kbps-download/128kbps-upload and I only pay for about
$17.00 per month unlimited.

Hey,
Well my Internet Connection speed right now is about 20 megabytes per second, it is quite fast I must admit. But we have to pay a whopping $99 per month for this, but it is also combined with free unlimited calls nationally which is also quite good. I have an airtel internet connection. Bit speed is not so good. you know what speed i get from that connection...only 64kbps surfing speed. And downloading speed is vey less...it is only 8-10 kbps. But i compromised with the speed.. because i have pay only 560 per month for that connection. But there is no limit of downloading on my net connection.. it's unlimited downloading. Suppose if i downloaded 10 MB softwre or file..then it is taking time to complete in downloading 15-20 minuts.

Mine is also the same but I need to pay little more for that. Though the rated speed is 256kbps, most of the time the connectivity will be very poor and the speed will be less.But for this bill amount, we can not get some other service providers as they will charge more even for this same speed.With so many problems, I am using this connections without any wish to have this.The service from the ISP will not be good. No other go ...
