After 8 years i decided to marry the love of my life who is in the navy and posted in Virginia. I will be leaving my job, i left my appartement and sold everything i had. Being Canadian i am allowed to spend periods of 6 months into the US but i cannot work there until our immigration process is over. I till have to make money to be able to keep the same life style we have now. I tried looking for jobs online but everything seems like a scam. I recently found that google kit for 1.95$ i got it, it was all about having a website and adsense and generating traffic, that was way too complicated for me. I finally found this site . i've been on it for 4 hours , i have no idea how much money i can make on this but i'm pretty sure it must not be that much. I am pretty stressed out about leaving my job, changing country, not knowing anyone and now i am also stressed about getting there with no income. Anybody ever went threw the same thing and i am asking you guys if you have any suggestions on what i could do for a living working online?

For online work like this - go to www.workathome.net. He has a pretty comprehensive site about making money online and breaks it down to make it simple. I'm new to this, but it seems that you have to really be committed and not expect to be making a lot of money for quite some time. So that means you really have to enjoy the "work" you are doing.

I agree with you on this, she must be patient, or earn some experience and measle money from the internet first. Otherwise, she couldn't do nothing else. Wait until her immigration paper gone through.

I would like to thank everyone for your answers, i didn't really thought people would actually respond to my posr. this was very usefull. I do have a good job in canada and lots of experience in it and i saw on monster and joboom and all those sites that they are looking for people in that departement but the thing is i can only visit the country for 6 months and i am not allowed to work there unless i find a job paid under the table but i will not do that because if IRS finds out i will be back to Canada and will never get my permanent residence in USA to be with my husband. I was not really looking for a get rich quick job. just a regular something i could do online to make money. I saw this other site where they are looking for client service inbond calls and stuff but then again they ask me to be american. You are all right when you say it is a transition but i can'T wait for all this to be over and just live our regular lifes. thank you all

Don't worry about it, and your life is in transition period I understand that. You have to be patient, and wait until all of your documents are processed, you will be able to find a job and earn some decent money. For other people, they also gone through the same process too, but you still can earn some money from mylot or other socializing website that do pay you.

I didn't see anyone else post it but if you can write articles, reviews, etc, then Associated Content does pay people. It's not a lot but it does add up eventually. That's at associatedcontent.com. Then there is gather.com. It's sort of like myLot, a social networking site, doesn't pay much, it adds up. There's MyPoints.com. They don't give you cash but you can get gift cards. It's a site where you earn points for stuff you do and buy. Good luck and congratulations on your marriage!

Maybe you could babysit during the day? There is pretty good money in that. Or clean houses? As far as earning here, it all depends on how much time and effort you put into it. There are people here that claim to make quite a bit but I think you'd have to be on here pretty much full time every day. How long does the immigration process take to go thru? On a happier note, Congratualations on your marriage. Wishing you the best. And welcome to mylot. looking forward to running into you on various discussions.

hi Mrs Wiers well mylot will pay you some depending on how much time you have to mylot answering discussions, making comments to discussions you have made, I make about 30 to 40 dollars a month plus tne or twenty I get from mysurvey doing fun surveys forthem I soon rack up one thousand points and can cash in for ten dollars or wait and double the points and get twenty dollars. Its really tough to make real wages on the net though. some here are writers and make some money writing articles which may be a way for you to go too. but I think a part time job not on the net would help you out more easily ' so you need to figure out what you do best and look for work in that area.

As you just mentioned about the survey site, can you give me that web address, so I can sign up too to make some money. I won't mind to spend sometime to do some survey. By the way, how much time you do spend a day on mylot to make 30 to 40 dollars a month? That is really amazing.

Hello Mrs. Wiers! well you are in luck, hon... I was in the navy for just over seven years, five of which I was posted in Norfolk, VA, so I know exactly where you are. Hopefully your husband has a much less stressful job than I did, because I was part of the nuclear navy, and a lot of that doesn't really make sense...primarily the dumb rules they come up with. If he IS part of the nuke navy, I'm sorry, but get used to getting screwed as far as the navy goes. As far as YOU go, get involved! There is a ton of stuff around that area to do, and be a part of. Not sure what kind of job you would like, but with five malls in the area, there really are a lot of job openings around there. About this website, if you want to earn some serious money, do the tasks. You can normally find some that pay a few bucks a shot, instead of the few cents per post you normally get in the topics. All you have to do is a little research, and you'll be just fine. :) There are a few similar sites, but this is the only one I am a part of, and it works pretty good... Normally, each ship has a spousal support group, which consists of normally the CO and XO's wives, and several other wives from your husband's ship. They are all going through the same thing you are, and several of them have great experience and advice. Out of curiosity, what ship is your husband on? I was on the carrier, USS Theodore Roosevelt. Anyway, hope I helped some...don't be afraid to ask me any more questions you might have! Watch your driving...there are a lot of crazy drivers down there...so stay safe! Dive Deep!

Hello! Wow what a small world!! He is on USS Dwight something, i never remember the name. i am sorry . I know what you mean about the stupid rules!! i sometimes feel like the navy just wants to mess up with our lifes but what can i do. He'S been in for 8 years now, just reenlisted for 3 years on shore duty yaaay 3 years i will have him by my side. then we will see what he does. I will support him wether he stays in or not but i just hope he leaves it. i don't see how i would get use to him leaving 6 months a year after i had him so close for 3 years. As for me working at a mall, i can, i am only allowed to visit i cannot leagally work until my immigration process is over, takes up to 15-18 months ... thank you for your post

Hey, I honestly have no idea what you should do, I don't have any experience, sorry about this. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I didn't move to another country, but I did give up everything I had and worked for to move to another state with my husband. I can tell you that it was scary and not easy at first; as a matter of fact, it was really hard at first and my attitude about it all made things a lot worse. In my situation, I had to learn the area, get a job, find a home, and everything else all at once. I didn't have time to really adjust inthe beginning. Now, as far as your situation, I think that if you really apply yourself, you can make a decent amount on-line, but it will require a lot of work on your part. If you like to write, there are sites that you can earn from by writing. If you want to check them out, the ones I am a member of are Associated Content, Triond, and Helium. There are also other sites like this one, but I cannot really say whether they pay or not because I have not reached payout on those sites yet. As a rule, I will try a new site until I reach payout, if, when I do reach payout and request payment, it does pay, I will continue with it, if not I go on to another one. It is a process of trial and error, and takes determination, but it can really work if you do.

Mylot is a great place to have fun and get payed for having fun. The more discussions that you start and the more responses you have along with the quality of what you post you'll make money. You won't get rich from here but you'll make some money. Right now I'm almost at payout. I post stuff on here and I write articles on other websites and I've made a pretty good amount from. Those sites as well. you have to be dedicated, and not give up.
