language arts class is so hard!

I am having lots of trouble in my language arts class in college. I recently took a quiz on a book, where our teacher gave us quotes and we had to say the meaning of the quote and who said them in the story. I got a 56% while most other people got around 90-100%. I studied really hard, read the book twice and I don't know why I did so bad! Any tips of what to do in teh future?

You should ask your professor, he or she will be able to give you the best answer on this. You should stay after one day or make an appointment and have them explain to you why exactly you got that grade and what you could do better in the future. There has to be some kind of catch - if you studied as hard as you did!
Another thing you could do is ask around. Ask your friends & peers in your class what they answered - and possibly compare tests once they're handed back to see what they did right and you didn't do.

Just keep trying!
Sometime we need more time to learn new things.
Do more extra practice..
ask friends or lecturer if you have trouble to understands some words..
