While lots of people here on earth are having hard time to lose weight, here I am problematizing how to gain weight.
Since before, I want to gain weight. Being thin is always my problem. I never become fat or become even between fat and thin.
The time came that I felt so insecure because of being thin. And I was tired hering peoplesayig "youre so thin." That's why last year I tried to gain weight by taking in a chocolate drink stating that it could make thin ones gain weight. And yes, I gain a bit. But, it left a stretch mark on my skin. And when I stopped drinking it, I lose what I gain.
What should I do to gain weight... An effective and proven way...

If only it were possible to transfer body fat, I would love to donate my fat to your body. LOL. But kidding aside, it's just how you are. Don't mind people who comment how thin you are. They are just insecure that you are thin. But if you really want to gain extra pounds so that you don't look like a starved person, then I would suggest that you see a nutritionist. Happy mylotting!

BUT i still feel insecure and self-conscious.

I to have this problem and hate being told how thin ,I am. I wish I knew what the answer was.But I can tell you most people think a piece of chocolate cake and sitting around will cure us. I have gone as far as to ask ,people who have shows on being heavy to show us the other ex stream in hopes of answers. Though it seems we are forgotten and laughed at for being so absurd as to want some pounds. Or why should we have the right to complain ! Little do they know or seem to care about the opposites like us.
Its sad they look so deep into loosing and forget us that cannot gain.

Before, I love sleeping. but now, there are so many temptations that take me away from sleeping. Just like this addicting internet. Once I sit in front of the computer and open my computer, there's no way you can pull me out of here.

Thank you arthi. I, too. I want to gain wight without any complications or health consequences. Sometimes I wonder if there are operations that can make someone gain weight. Fat ones are lucky for they can always have lyposactions.
Hope that your mom and I will find a solution SOON!

could it be that you have hyperthyroidism? many people couldnt gain weight because of that.
But my dear. It doesnt mean that you aint healthy if youre thin alright?
Being a chubby person myself, i could give you tips on weight gain! Eat french fries! as the song goes, potato on your lips forever on your hips! Eat loads of carbohydrates!
i have another one but it aint healthy. why wont you try sleeping late and wake up early. youll be surprised how monstrous you can get on food!

Thank you grace. :) Well, I have already undergone the ultrasound and blood test to check if I have that hyperthyroidism. But the result is negative. I'm fine.
I like your suggestions. In fact, I always eat french fries. But I gain nothing. Later these days, I stopped eating a lot of eat because someone told me that our stomachs take a week to digestthe french fries. Thank you so much.

well i am quite the opposite you see if you really really want to gain weight eat foods that are high in salt it will make you retain water, also foods high in saturated fats are really bad for you. My question is why you want to gain weight. Are you hyper thin? A few words though if you go on a rapid weight gain binge it could be detrimental to your heath.

What do you mean hyper thin... I am not that thin. I am not like those who seem not to be eating. but I am thin. Some say that my body is of model type. but i do not want it. I want to gain weight.

Eat something before you go to bed! lol They usually try to say don't eat anything less than an hour before you go to bed. Usually the carbs just sit there in your system and they are some of the hardest to get out when you don't need them. Or sodas. Sodas are many people's enemies but they may be your friends though they are unhealthy. So I'd just go with eating right before you go to bed. It can even be a healthy snack too. And to help with stretch marks, even though I kind of like mine because I'm weird like that, try a shea/cocao butter lotion after every bath and before you go to bed.

this discussion is pretty close to my heart as for long i had desperately wanted to gain weight and shed off my "thin stick" or "miss pencil" titles.people feel i am too choosy not to eat they would just love to gorge.but due to my allergic tendencies.my system just revolts if i take somethings unagreeable and most weight increasing stuffs unfortunately are in my no-no zone. being a vegan i tried eating dairy products but that makesme even sicker.i dont have thyroid issue.it sucks when people just don't care about you for you just a little being for them worth any feelings .do let me know if you get something working for you. i too am desperate to gain wait and look my age.

Aw... I know what you are feeling. :( As I have said I tried some product and it worked. Though there came a stretch mark on my skin. Maybe that's because of high protein intake. But I'm not totally blaming the product. If you want to give it a try, just tell me. :)

Hi,
Even though french fries can add to the weight, it is for sure unhealthy. To gain weight the healthy way, eat healthy, nutritious food and do some moderate exercises. One banana with a spoon of honey and a glass of milk before bed helps in adding up to your weight. Keep away from stress and have a healthy lifestyle.

Well to gain weight you need to consume more calories than you use. A helpful sight is weightloss resources. I used it to lose weight but it can also be used to help gain weight. You put in your age, height, weight and a weight you would like to be and it will give you a calorie target. Each day you put in what you eat and it calculates how many calories you have had. You also input any exercise and the calories used will be deducted. This way you can gain weight in a controlled manner which should help prevent stretch marks.

hey
i myself am a size 14 and have been trying everything to lose weight. the dietricians all say dont eat after 6 o clock. so maybe if u turn that around and eat a lot of carbs after 6 you may gain a little without getting those horrible dreaded stretch marks.
good luck

A good way to gain weight is by eating 1 to 2 very large meals a day.
This is going to slow down your metabolism and cause your body to turn food into energy much slower.
By doing this you will begin to gain weight.
Be sure to eat healthy though, you don't want all the weight gained to be from fast food and whatnot.
The most healthy diet would consist mainly of fruits and vegetables, beans, rice, whole wheat breads, no more than two 3 oz servings of white meat a week (preferably fish), berries and nuts.
Of course you can eat, in moderation, whatever you want, but this should be your main diet, so that you gain healthy weight.

same here. I have always wanted to gain weight at least to the right places of my body. I couldn't be any successful since i was frequently stressed out from school but when I graduated and started working, there are less stress and my usual habits were changed. Before I could never go on a day witout drinking my hot chocolate or hot milk in the morning and in the afternoon. but since I am not in school anymore, I can get up late and skip meals. I started getting bloated when I quitted drinking hot beverages and sleeping forever. Maybe it's because of the huge lifestyle change since I dont go out frequently right now and I am always stuck at home since I do all my work at home.

Oh! How I wish I will finish my school soon. In that way, I would be able to stay longer at home too and eat until I become bloated. I really want to do all the things for the sake that I will become fat. I can even have a year break after my graduation just to concentrate on gaining weight.

Hi there grace12bueno. I see this discussion is a little old, as it was started 4 weeks ago. But I wanted to give you my input as well.
When I was young, like you, and before I reached 30, I had a really hard time gaining weight. My metabolism was just fast plus I did a lot of work on the house, with the wood burner, and in the yard. But after I turned 30 I have the opposite problem, so you might just want to keep the weight off while you can.
However, if you do insist on trying to gain weight, one thing that you might try is eating bananas. I knew a guy who wanted to join the military, but they told him he was too thin. So his parents started making him eat a lot of bananas on a daily basis, sure enough they accepted him not long after that.
Good luck to you!

Grace, I had this problem for quite a while, too. The doctor was yelling at me to put on weight, because I was seriously underweight. Unfortunately, I ate a ton, and still couldn't put on any weight. I was very active and have a high metabolism. I started drinking banana milkshakes and other healthy but high calorie foods, like cheese. Eventually, that worked, but it took a long time.
