This is great to see. India is now at number 1 overtaking South Africa by 1 point.
After the recent win against New Zealand yesterday in India's first match of Compaq cup, India ranked at number 1.
Previously, India was at number two with a 1 point difference between South Africa and India.
This is really nice to see and I think this is the first time we're seeing Indian's moving on the top spot in ODI's. Hope this will continue.
Thoughts please

well, i was also really happy to see india on number 1 in the ratings but i think that happiness was only for few hours as india lost to sri-lanka and came down with it, how ever they won the series beating sri-lanka in the finals but still they are second in the rating, atcually they are third now as australia won by 6-0 against england.

I was thinking that India is yet to win another match to go to the No 1 ranking. If you are right, then I am very happy and proud as an Indian. The form of Indian cricket is excellent during the last 2 years. They truly deserve the No 1 spot. They still have to improve their fielding and bowling a bit though.

Dear VinceMcMahon,It's really surprise that this country is dilly-dolling with the ranking again, the past history too have showed the same episodes likes the now....
What really matter is the fact that any country which shows the likes of the WestIndies or the Australia then only one could be sure enough that yes this is the new one who have the real zinc in it to be praised upon.
Both the WestIndies as well as the Australian have shown the world how they hold the position year after year, this is what the norm of the day.
The country you are taking about does not have really any blood in its vain, its only the chance by which it gains or loose by that matter. Its only money which is playing the real game. Its easy money no real hard work like the football or any discipline like in the Olympics.....
Hence its just a time pass or wastage of time on our part......
