Mushrooms or Steak, which would you choose?

So, I see that it is National Mushroom Month and National Prime Beef Month. Which would you like to celebrate more? Or perhaps you would like your steak smothered in mushrooms?

Don't think I could keep up with you. I like steak, but a 6 oz. ribeye would be my limit. Now my son and hubby are like you, they would eat theirs and anything I didn't finish.

It's funny because my family freak out when they learned that I could eat like that. They thought I was taking my time eating slowly until they realized their son was a horse. At least I bought my own pieces.

Now I'm wondering when national chicken month is. You know there has got to be one. We have a National (fill in the blank) Month for everything, so there has got to be one for chicken too. Your mushroom, onion and green pepper combo sounds good.

I love both, but I prefer them separate - but I'm one of those people that don't really like to have my food touching....

I'm no where near as bad as I was as a child, but I still prefer they not touch - now, if they are supposed to be together like a casserole... and I'll eat bites on the same fork, but really prefer they stay apart...

I understand about the food not touching. My grandfather was fond of telling stories about how upset I would get when the pea juice got on my potatoes, etc. Don't have a problem with it anymore, but I can sympthize.

I think the steak smothered in mushrooms sounds good to me. I do like steak and when you add something good like mushrooms to it it is even better. I like steak fajitas with steaks and onions and peppers. They are all good. I think a lean steak eaten in moderation is good for you.

Steak fajitas sound good! I agree that steak or beef should be eaten in maderation for good health. We don't buy it often because of the price, so that keeps us from eating too much. We eat more chicken.

We went to a friend's house yesterday and ate Chinese food. One of the dishes was beef and mushrooms. Quite good. I thought of this discussion I had started and told my friends about National Prime Beef and National Mushroom Months.

Hi caver, I'll have to make it a double celebration as love both so much so I'll have my steak cooked medium rare please and placed next to a lovely pile of grilled mushrooms. If you could manage a green salad while you're in the kitchen it would be much appreciated. Actually that sounds so good, it is so hard to buy real steak out here and I don't think I've touched one in the last eighteen months.

I did have steak last month. It is not something we usually buy due to the cost, but I got some as part of a package deal with Angel Food Ministry. And you are right, we need a salad also.

I like them both and they taste better together. Together is the way I want mine. The steak smothered in mushrooms the way you said it. Have a great day.

I wouldn't choose either. lol. I'm not a beef eater, I just don't like the taste. I don't care for mushrooms either. I guess if I really had to choose, I would pick mushrooms. Very finely chopped mushrooms. lol.

Its a good thing you don't have to choose. Good thing these National Month things aren't mandated. We don't have to celebrate them. I don't think I've had any beef this month yet. And mushrooms...there might have been some on the piece of pizza I ate last Sunday.
