Oh yes i agree and seldom see women in hotel kitchen. If i see women they are in group. Maybe because we are talking about institutions here and its consist of bigger task and responsibilities not only in the scope of work but also the weight and number of the food and people to serve.

Hi Adiel, I agree, cooking is always synonymous with women in housework, particularly in some of the country that men and women are not equal, guys think that women should obey their husbands, women should take care of children and women should clear the housework, they takes for granted for women's role in daily life, and what we call it Chauvinism.hee~~But why the most dominant in the cook of rustaurant or hotel is men rather than women, in my opion, it is men are more aggressive than women, the cook orientation is much stronger in men, they want to lead the careen no matter in what kinds of area, and cooking is just one of the line. And I would like to say it is another example of Chauvinism.

I don't agree with the way you see it either. Cooking can go both ways. There are great female cookers as much great male cookers. Even here around my home it's been my dad always cooking for over 20 years in the least! And I probably am going to his successor ;) And a tip...women love men that know how to cook, less work for them ;D

I think alot of men these dyas are learning more and more about cooking. Some of the top chefs in the world, can cook really good and they are men. I think some men do cook alot better than some women do these days.

I think men can cook as well as women. But it seems that women tend to cook at home, but men do it as a career. You can see there are many famous chefs in the world are mainly males. Actually I think men can cook better than women. I love China

If its home cooking, then yes women are mostly associated with cooking, but if you have a look at all professional cooks they are generally all male. The reason I think why male is head of a restaurant is because that is considered as profession and hence people are willing to do anything for their profession. When it comes to home cooking, it is always assumed as women job and hence a women always manages the home kitchen, even of a professional cook ;)

I like men who knows how to cook. They have this skills that I do not know but I can say, they can cook really well. I guess for a hotel or restaurant, they prefer men to be their chef. Because as you know you have to do a lot of hard work. Cooking, preparing tons of foods. Most men can handle it for hours because they have more strength.

We are living in a time where mens and womens roles are changing. I don't see anything wrong with a male cook. Its nice for us women to take a break from the kitchen once in a while. I once dated a man who was a great cook.
