inbound and outbound links- what they do for page ranking

I do have a website, it's an online store, so in order for me to get high page rank I made a multiply site that links to my store website. My question is, Is the multiply site good for the store website? One thing I read about page ranking, link to a website that has low out bound links when I check the standing of my website at alexa.com the only thing it includes is multiply.com confused here needs help^^
